***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hi Jcatblum

Hopefully we will be at POOPS . I am going to be at the next Newcastle auction and thought about bringing guinea eggs . We are leaving for vacation in early May so don't have time to hatch keets . My guineas are laying like crazy in the barn , thank goodness . The blue coral and sky blue guineas free range together but most are blue corals .

Hope to see you there !

I hear it thundering off to the southwest not sure if it's coming this way or not I still have soo much to get done outside and running behind cause I was supposed to meet a guy to buy my old truck and he was a no-show, it was someone through Craigslist so go figure I think 99% of people that call about ads on the site are either spamming, scamming or just really lonely and needing someone to talk to, all I want to do is sell a few things and get Fred Sanford moved out of my front yard LOL

Praying for those in the storm paths. Nrman hit...sister and aunt live there, checking on them.
we have thunder and lightening, but heard there is golfball sized hail in the twin lakes area...hope Carl and Stehp are okay.

My son goes to school in Norman. Molly called him to see if he was good from the storms. He was in route to Shawnee to see friends. Crap having kids leave home and go off on their own is sure hard on old peoples nerves.

What time does Blanchard start taking consignments? Think we are going to drop chicks off tomorrow then head to frontier city a few hours. It is opening day! We need to get our passes made so we don't have to fight the crowd at the switch foot concert in 2 wks.

I think they are there around noon to take consignments I think you can call and drop some things off the night before also

I have a system that has worked for me for years for starting seed indoors I made some boxes from 1x2's about 12x18 and used window screen on one side then cut some 1-1/4 pvc pipe into 2" pieces and filled them all with potting mix set them all in the boxes and those set in cafeteria trays the seeds sprout and most roots that grow through the screen self girdle so don't get tangled up and are easy to remove I use a small bulb planter to make the holes and just push the seedlings out the bottom of the pipe section right in to the hole so no disturbing the roots it's worked really well for me I just wish I had had the time to start some plants this year I know it's not too late but maybe next year I'll get in some sort of garden I really would like to

How is everyone doing with the storms? The rain is finally here, we spent the late afternoon getting all the birds in their coops and making sure all the feeders and waterers are filled in the coops. Also gathered greens for them all and put those in the coops so they will have a little treat since they didn't get as much outside time as they are used to. My babies that we moved out this week are not sure about this rain thing. It started thundering and they started running around like the sky was falling. Hubby is gathering blankets in case we loose power so we can cover the incubators.

Everyone stay safe, praying we don't have to go to the basement but thankfull we have it just in case.

Thanks Mitzi I love doing photos with the animals and babies. I wish I could take some classes.

I just got home from work out in Newcastle. My car took a nice little beating from the hail. Sitting in a small building with 20+kids, most panicking from the storm is not fun. I hope these storms pass quickly and people are safe. Suppose to hit my area soon. I just wish my kids would hurry up and get home before it does. I'd feel better.

I just spent 30 min closing everything up-- 60 mph winds & hail is a few miles away. The guineas are still standing outside their coop screaming at it, but I did my best. Everyone else is up. I wasn't going to get beat by hail just because they want to play outside.
Tonight & tomorrow are showing the same pattern as when the huge tornados took out Alabama last yr. heard of storm chasers even coming from as far as Wisconsin just to experience an Oklahoma spring time weekend.

Must be related to our guineas! I opened the coop and proped the door open with a 5 gallon bucket. I hope they have the brains to get in there but right now they are all running in the back yard squaking. There is also a awning set up back there they can get under for protection but they aren't using it, goofy birds.

Well crap the weather is heating up, weather radio is going off yet again.

Sounds great! I would love to hatch some of your eggs or get some keets. If you are wanting more keets for yourself we can hatch them out for you & get them to you after vacation. I only hatched a few coral blues last yr since my blue is mated with a pearl.

The babies got introduced to fermented oats. At first they weren't convinced it was food, there was a lot of beak scratching on the ground, but when they were finally convinced they had a field day w/ them. I only gave them a little want to gradually expose them to fermented grain so they don't get diarrhea. I'll take them out some dubia's, but I have to take it out in a different container unless I want to feed everyone today b/c the EE know the dubia bucket.

Ya GOT to be smarter than the chickens.
And if you want to fool Yeti it better have a label on it that says --------> "This is not chicken food" <-------- if you want to get into the run without being taken to the ground lol
I'm thinking of you, Nana! They just said there's some bad stuff by Meeker. Not bad here at all. Every time for the last 19 yrs that it's hit Norman/Moore its missed us.
