***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The Coweta sale was still going strong when I left around tenish. I couldn't stand the suspense of not knowing if Naomi had kidded yet. DH was home and promised he'd keep an eye on her, but I think that meant he'd go check if the dogs told him there was a problem. She was bleating and complaining when I got home, be she had not delivered her baby yet. This morning, she's acting like she's weeks away from kidding, and she's spending time talking with Galen's and Milagra's babies.

There were some white peafowl that went high last night: around $130.00 each. Joe sold some amazingly beautiful birds last night. Prices were way, way out of my range on the really nice birds. I did get a lovely travel cage: no pictures yet. It's made of cedar and has a wire screen floor. I think it will make a great transport cage if I ever find myself taking a bird to a show. I bought four Cuckoo Marans babies for $3.50 each. They're an active bunch, and I plan to put them with the Marans chicks I got through the Easter Hatch A Long. I also bought hatching eggs, so I'm going to set a new tray before bedtime tonight.

Joe - I'll let you know how the eggs do. Thank you so much for thinking of me. I should also have an update on April 25th, which is when I'll candle my current hatch for lockdown. Those babies will be out of the shell before the end of April, so we'll know if you've got a pair or a trio coming.

thanks i hope the eggs do great it looks like you got me in action LOL

robin- it looks like chick 2-3-4 are silverlaced

Wasn't able to make the sale tonight had something to do I couldn't procrastinate any longer doing, I'm also setting the temps on my new hatcher I have a bunch of eggs to get moved into it tomorrow and it's officially the last minute again I heard someone say once that if it weren't for the last minute they would never get anything done I think that must be my motto as well LOL
Bill I'll have to catch you next time on the seed or send them to you somehow, do you need any gourd seed I have several different kinds I can throw in also, I had planned to cut some of the cane and plant it but never found the time, I will though and I'm waiting till the day before POOPS to dig root cutting for everyone that wants them that way they will be fresher for you to plant them, I will have (counting them before they hatch) have chicks for POOPS also along with some other things to donate to the raffle a wire chicken with eggs in it some odds and ends also

The wife and i picked up a nice little flock of spangled Cornish Bantams, but with the new BYC i can't for the life of me manage to post any pics.

Matt when the reply box comes up there are icons across the top of it counting from the right it's the 13th icon and click on it. A seperate box will appear and you can either get images from the computer or a site like Photobucket. I had to play with it for a while to figure it out from there so I imagine that it won't take you nearly as long.

I'm sure too that there are instructions somewhere on the site that explains it but after all, who reads instructions? Those things are confusing.

Here's the earrings for the POOPS raffle! After much procrastination of my own, I finally got these finished.

The pic is a little blurry and the lighting stinks but it gives you the idea. A lot of the paler colors and details got washed out. They're much nicer when you can see them up close. In addition to the chicken beads, I had some easter egg beads left over so I made a few of those too. I hope everybody likes them.

Those are too cute!

We had ALL the chicks outside today except for the three I hatched out since they are so tiny. Got the chicken wire finally put up! My bucks decided to go inside the coop and that chick feed was the best thing ever. I had a heck of a time keeping them out so we could get work done. Silly boys. My doeling was too cute checking everyone out. Today was a beautiful day.

Here is Sparta with his girls who are pretty much the same age but bigger than him already. I'm going to get him a girl or two later on down the road. He is so pretty I love watching him outside.

It was nice to visit with folks at Newcastle this evening. We got there late and I didn't even walk around to see what might be available for acquisition - it is safer for my pocketbook that way

Hubby saw someone he used to work with many years ago and had a good time visiting with the former co-worker and BYC folks. It is always nice when he has a good time at a poultry auction and it never ceases to amaze me "what a small world it is."
