***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Think I need to add more dirt?? All 6 of them had to be in that spot. lol

I have no clue what is going on with his/her feathers?? But just looked like that once they started growing in.

Awhile back everyone was talking about peach trees. I don't know what kind this is. But. We have peaches! Hopefully we will get to eat some of these lol. Now if only the apple trees would produce.

Met Buster and his lovely wife at the Lawton Farmers Market today. I think I talked there ears off.

No, it was fun talking. We didn't make many sales yesterday (although we did sell out of eggs pretty early), but we enjoyed socializing with everyone. Fun that I slowly put 2 and 2 together and figured out it was you we were talking to. :)

On the other issue, the next auction we will be attending will be Walters on Monday, May 7th. I think it starts at 6, but modernman can say for sure. You can come to the library at 5 and we can all take off from there. It will be fun.

POST 1 OF 2.

langshan man was involved in an altercation this afternoon. dammage was done and blood was drawn!!

Dang. Probably not a candidate for a Lap Roo, huh?

It's kind of cool. One of my turkey's feathers did that until they got grown all the way in. Those Brahmas are looking really pretty.

From what my friends in England tell me eggs offered for sale are not refigerated, not even in the stores. Many people there still sell small amounts of eggs to local shops and they get a rubber stamp to stamp their name and such on each egg.

In Japan too, eggs sitting on the shelf just like bread.

Speaking of Oven Cooked eggs: Out of curiosity yesterday, I got out the muffin tin and put 6 fresh raw organic eggs into 6 muffin cups and put them into the oven at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes. Took them out and set them on the sideboard to cool and thenpeeled them. To my surprise, they did peel much easier!! Usually fresh eggs peel with some difficulty, but these came out just fine. Now back to the egg salad!

You see, I'm a few pages behind...

Thought I'd post a few pictures....I'm collecting Columbian Wyandotte eggs for the raffle from these birds...They are not cooperating but hope to have a full dozen eggs in the carton....Beau and his girls. Will also have a trio of their offspring for sale and a trio in the raffle. Should give you an idea of what the chicks will look like when they hatch and grow. The wind is blowing Beau's wattles lol.

this is a five month old pullet that is an example of what the young birds could look like

Here are some of the young birds that will be raffled or sold. Will make up the trios on Friday. Some of the blues and blacks will also be in the for sale line. Besides the CWs in the picture are some Cochin/Australorp and some Cochin Wyandottes as well as a black Cochin roo. There will be also a SLW cockerel like the in the middle.

And this pair is going to be in the sale line: SLWyandotte roo and hen. She is a little rough from rooster wear but is a good laying hen.

How is he bred. (The rooster not langshan man :lau )   Did wound come from beak or spur?

Wounds were spurs, he knew better than to do what he did. was his own fault.

not sure on breed, bird came from Kansas. this is the same bird that whipped him a few months ago.

i wasn't there but would have loved to see it!
