***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good Morning Folks! Did anyone brood Wyandottes this spring? I was wanting to buy a few teenagers for a birthday present. I guess they don't have to be Wyandottes. Does anyone have extra hens and a rooster or 2 they would like to sell?

Quote: I concur. I should have heeded old cowboy's admonition and checked the weather channel one more time before going to bed - instead of waking up in the middle of the night - surprised at how hard it was raining. The news station at 1:30 am kept going on and on about the wind, ponded water on the highway and the hail in Choctaw. I am heading out to check on some baby chicks that are under mama hens. Hopefully, the wind didn't blow too much rain into the coop on them.

Monty - are your coops in Choctaw alright? Did you get hail?

Oh mah goodness ya'll, I got behind on this thread and had just about given up on catching up...but I made it! I'm coming to POOPS and I am very excited...and I am bringing chickens and my one chicken keeping friend ...but in my haste to read through the thread I have missed the t-shirt information...I think that I need at least a ladies small and a child's medium and maybe more? Can I get more the day of?
I am so jealous of all the gardeners posting the gorgeous gardens..mine keeps getting pecked into oblivion...but I am working on that....
I really am going to try to get photos of what I am bringing....and post them! Stuff keeps happening around here like TORNADO on the next block over and a bank robber next door ( the whole thing is too lengthy to post but yes the cross dressing bank robber was my next door neighbor and the people who investigate those things now all dress like casual Friday on a daily basis now which I did not know) and school field trips and why O why is it that the most beautiful season that we should get to savor is the one that is just so crammed up with events? Anyone else feeling that? Like it is Christmas Busy this Spring?
ANYWAY! Hope to pop up some photos tomorrow and see you all at POOPS

rofl!!!!!! Oh my. Let us know ahead of time before you tell the story. This one calls for a huge cup of iced coffee haha!

Probably every person on this list :) You should know better than to ask Okies about chickens for sale. I made that mistake when I 1st joined the board lol
People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap (POOPS) is Saturday in Choctaw, there'll be hundred of birds there if you can make it.

Whomever came up with the "new" digital TV stations over the old analog should be made to live here in "Tornado Alley" with nothing but the broadcast stations. I can actually see the tower farms for the TV stations from the front yard but I can't pick up but a few stations.

As many do I check here first for weather info. The network on this thread is better then the TV ever was!!

X2!!!! I hate the "new improved TV" Then the weather radio that goes off for even a rain shower so I have learned to ignore it even. Hubby said I kicked him 3 times the other night to go turn it off, I didn't hear a thing, lol.

New member to BYC and I was doing some scrounging around and found this thread. I'm so happy there are threads by state, that's cool. I'm living in Broken Arrow Oklahoma (technically in the city limits.. shhhh don't tell)

I'm a new chicken momma. I have one chicken. We may be getting a friend for her but until the coop I ordered comes in my husband says my chicken buying is on hiatus.

Luna is my red sex link hen. She is 5 weeks old. She loves watching TV. She sits on my shoulders while I pick up the house, fold laundry, pull weeds, etc. We have totally embraced this whole chicken thing. When we open the back door she comes running. And if something scares her while she is enjoying some supervised free roaming she runs straight for my legs. It's the funniest thing.

I look forward to reading posts here! This is a great site.
psssst, your husband is in trouble! once you start you cant stop !

This is my first year having chickens too. It has definitely been a challenge, but I love it. The people on this list are so helpful, and nice to newbies. I have learned a lot from them. I'm sure I have tons more to learn though.

We didn't get much hail. Just wind and rain. Most of the hail core stayed to the North of us.
Did you get a lot of hail?
