***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Kass, they both look like poison ivy to me!
Nana, the pens sure feel like an acres but actually they're only going to be a 20 x 55 ft area when I'm done with the 15x20.
Christina, the Blue Wheatons are hard to find and rather expensive for just 6 eggs. If I can't find the other breed I want (didn't I just say I was done????) then I'm going to give them a shot. I'd love a Blue Wheaton boy, they're beautiful, but I just dont know about keeping any males. Would you still want extras if they're boys? lol Or maybe that can be a fall hatch and I can find more than 6 eggs at a time by then.

Hey, guys. I haven't posted in forever. Lots of family stuff going on. Anyway, I see POOPS is this weekend. I am definitely going to be there with my kids and one of their friends. Anyone know if there will be other kids around? Will they run around and play games and have fun? Also, who do I contact to find out what to bring as far as food? Thanks!

Traci
My kids will be there running around being crazy, My boys are 7, 10, and 14 and my daughter will be there running around with them as well.

I haven't read further to see if anyone else answers this, but no lambs quarters and poke are not the same thing at all, but both are edible plants that grow wild in OK. Poke has a longer thinner leaf and glossy like, lambs quarters has a fatter leaf (like maple tree shape) not glossy at all. LQ is a reletive of quinoa, and the leaves don't need any special tx to eat (boiling several times etc...)

These are not my pics

Yes! I know Lamb's Quarter well, and the Poke is what I thought it was.

Monty, I have also been told that parts of the purple-berried plant (Poke - but I didn't know that's what it was called) is poisonous. I don't remember seeing Poke growing out in the Panhandle, but the Lamb's Quarter grows in the bar ditches out there.

Hey, Guys, I'm going to be at POOPS this weekend and I really, really want to buy a good broody if anyone's got one, maybe two. I'd really like a cochin or two, bantam or large fowl makes no difference to me. I guess I'd consider silkies too, but the show quality ones are kinda pricey for my blood. Let me know what you've got!

I could totally use a wife who keeps a neat house because that is not my strong suite! I think my husband would get the wrong idea though! :D
