***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Here's some pics of my humble little red star girls, along with my mystery chick. The older ones are 13 weeks and the younger ones and the mystery are 10 weeks old now. Still can't tell, he's(she?) got pretty colors but ??? No saddle feathers yet and still a lot of fuzzies too, so I guess more time will tell.

I had the run divided between the 3 older ones and the new bunch. Today I opened it up and these young'uns were having a blast in the tall grass! The other 3 never scratched much so it just kept growing. It'll be stomped down in no time now that the others are all over the place, I'm sure.

This is Bossy. She's always telling everybody what to do.
They look like they were having alot of fun. Wonder what is was that had everyone looking in the 2nd pic? Must of been good.
Mystery IS really pretty. I'm not an expert but she sure does look like a she, even stands like a hen.

You know I was truly looking into raising bugs for the chickens. I mean I am fermenting and sprouting, why not add bugs to the mix. Then I see that pic from Kass and nope, no bugs, just can't do it. I would be doing the heebie jeebie dance all day long!! (we need a heebie jeebie smilie) Not to mention I have kids that would think its hilarious to let some loose in the house. Can you imagine the look on the Orkin guys face!

I love all the pictures today! Such beautiful birds.

Kass, Oreo is so sweet!

Could this little roo that we have be a Plymouth Rock Bantam?

Please ignore Boss in the background.

He is a Buff Orpington x Black Australorp that one of my hens hatched out. There is a mix in my egg layer pen. I never knew I would get this crazy about chickens so never worried about keeping them separate! And don't worry, that curtain rod has been picked up...

I still have no idea how it got in the pen.
Both are very handsome!
Nice pics everyone.

There are less "hard core" feeder insects to raise then dubias. And the orkin man comment almost made me choke on my popcorn!

Oreo was feeding his ladies cherries today, so of course what is a proud chicken mom to do but get the camera out!

He's calling and she's coming as fast as her little feet willl carry her!!

I did the same today played in the dirt then w/ the camera.

He's bee-yoo-ti-ful!! What breed is he?

I just noticed the pics I took today have yesterday's date on them. I'll have to fix that.
