***OKIES in the BYC III ***

He's bee-yoo-ti-ful!! What breed is he?

I just noticed the pics I took today have yesterday's date on them. I'll have to fix that.
He is an easter egger. Thanks I think he is just about gorgeous too.

Thank you. All of the hens from this line has produced this color no matter what I have bred them with. At least it's easy to tell who mom was.
The genetics gurus on the NN thread told me if my white and black NN (I think boy) was pure for something (I forget what) all his offspring would be his same color, since I only have space for one roo and I love variety if he is really a he I won't be keeping him.

Guy here is a shot of the mixed flock that I'm getting the blues out of. I have two hens in there similar to the white one that should produce some typey NN offspring.

You said that you wanted a lot of neck, these girls have that for sure!

Beautiful birds Les! Thanks for educating me yesterday. I learn something every time we talk.
So glad you got to come to POOPS. I wish we had managed to pull off the Q& A time but after
the raffle folks started packing up.
Thanks for sticking around and helping me load up.

Ladieokie] Looking at the tail and body type maybe jap - rock cross , just guessing
Thanks, I really have no idea. LOL The kids are the ones really wanting to know. They love that little roo and his one hen. He has the worst crow! Sounds like a sick goose. The other roos look at him like "really!"

It's been my experiance that a white bird with black peppering in the feathering is what we used to call a "stay white" bird. They won't get a yellow tint (brassiness) from too much corn in the feed. If I remember right those birds carry the silver gene. Put over some white hens with intense culling and it can really improve a line of whites.

If he produces the same color offspring as he is no matter what he is bred to that is known as homozygous.

But I would ask Carl just to be double sure.

I really wanted to do the Q&A, but my boys started melting down after the egg contest and they were super tired. I figured I ought to leave before y'all asked us to leave! :D

Monty we enjoyed doing it. Yesterday was just what Teva and I needed with all that is going on. She was more relaxed today then I have seen her in months.
