***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The park and pavillion were just beautiful. Teva and I both had a wonderful time.

A big thank you to everyone that worked so hard and long to put everything together.

Rocking my POOPS shirt to school and work today. :)

Bonnie and Clyde have been putting these chicks in check. The Brahmas thought they were going to bully them I don't know why they are so mean! But both Silkies let them know who's boss. Now when they are sleeping Bonnie has all the little ones up under her and around her. So I guess she's warming up to them.

I heard Clyde crowing yesterday when I was working on the coop. It was the cutest thing. Now I feel like I really have Chickens. Even though chickens are only the ones who lay eggs.......lol

Have a good day! And happy teacher's appreciation week!

Foghorn you will have plenty of chickens now that you discovered hatching!

Cowboy glad you got the snake yesterday, I bet he still has some friends & family hanging around. Saturday night I only found one guinea egg..... Stupid stupid snakes

Yesterday I mowed with the tractor & then the whole family spent the day working on the duck pen. The female mandrain is as spastic as a guinea, but the boy seems pretty calm. He just wants to stay camouflaged while she runs & flaps from corner to corner. Pretty sure she has had her wings clipped. I will try to take some pics of them later.

I need to get out & do some stuff in the garden but I am moving slow today.

Guineas are hatching as I type. If a few dz hatch by tonight I will take them to be Walters sale. Think 5 have hatched so far.

You know I was truly looking into raising bugs for the chickens. I mean I am fermenting and sprouting, why not add bugs to the mix. Then I see that pic from Kass and nope, no bugs, just can't do it. I would be doing the heebie jeebie dance all day long!! (we need a heebie jeebie smilie) Not to mention I have kids that would think its hilarious to let some loose in the house. Can you imagine the look on the Orkin guys face!

oh lord! another cootie woman!

kass, i blame you for all these womens with bugs!

Yeppers, P&B called it. The llamas were at Muesky's along with a bunch of feathered eye candy. They were a treat to meet, although I did think for about 10 seconds I was going to get spit on.

retiredarmywife-If that bird was from Crazyhorse707, she had 2 young kids with her and was sitting on the east side of the pavilion by Jack, then it should be a silver laced Polish. Her DH brought home a whole box full of assorted chicks from .... Atwoods I think it was.

Beautiful pic of lil' sooner. With no purse though, where did she put her cellphone? I'm going to have to figure all that out for my girls. Love the skirt fabric.

The pavilion was excellent. Really good choice for this event I thought. I hope they were happy with the clean-up. I would say we left zero from the birds as far as I could tell and minimal from the food, all of which was actual food rather than paper mess.

Ooooh Les. Love the lacing. Do they come in a blue laced?

That EE roo is one good roo. Great pics.

I got the Texas Star Hibiscus. Where I'm thinking I REALLY want to plant it, my DH will pitch a fit if I do it before we get the new fencing up and a few other things. He plants everything IMHO haphazardly just to make my mowing more of a pain.

Anyone see a problem with repotting to a bigger pot for now? Hopefully just another month or so, but it may be a year before I get that particular spot ready.

Darn it! Keep forgetting to ask.... Recipe for the "Marans Eggs" from the dessert table? Would love a PM of the recipe. I think it would go over really cute at one of our 4H meetings.

Hey Poopsters! I ended up with some plastic bowls and utinsels, two ice chests and a cooler. And three roosters.
I have found where the ice chest and cooler go. (Old Cowboy) and the roosters (Oakieridge) but not the plastic bowls.
On the flip side, my long extension cord hitched a ride home with someone. It is orange and was plugged in behind the
grill and ran over to the food warmer.
If anyone finds it stowing away with your cords let me know and I will make plans to send the
cord patrol to bring it home.
Thanks again to everyone who brought stuff and helped in anyway.

I have 8 barred rock hens 8 black hens and a roo that I rescued from a neighbor, and 14 eggs in the bator(first time bator)
That is great! You will have babies soon, they are the cutest!

Monty~ I think every year you get extra stuff & loose half of yours. Okiechick57 should be contacting you soon!
