***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Traci we are at frontier city often! I thought I mentioned I was going, sorry. Once it gets hot our trips are limited to concerts & the water park. I think we have been every weekend since they opened in April, but come July you won't catch me there!

I didn't know! Oh well. If we need to trade birds or eggs again we'll know!

Hi Everyone;  I'm a semi-newbie in Norman and have loved reading the Okie thread.  Need a bit of advice.  Where would you suggest is the best place to buy feed here?  We have 11 chickens (love those birds) and are soon getting 4 pygmy goats.  We've been looking for a good feed supply but maybe in the wrong places?  Maybe want Dumor?  Any thoughts?

I'm not a fan of Purina Feeds. I buy Nutrena but I don't live in Norman.

So, I could probably keep five bantams in my little a-frame couldn't I? I mean, if someone, say michael daugherty, or someone had a red frizzle cochin bantam hen?

Well, if I can figure this thing out, I thought I would post some pics of my sizzle chicks. This is from my first hatch from mating my red frizzle roo with white silky hens and a black silky roo with red and black frizzle hens. I only took pics of a couple, but it gives an idea of what they are looking like so far. The last one is a splash blue LF cochin chick that I think is just a doll and had to share.

Hello, my name is, Steven and I'm new to BYC and chickens in general. I recently purchased 10 Black Copper Marans and luckily I stumbled on this website. Lots of good information here and now I see there's an Oklahoma forum, which makes it even better. I'm located in the Blanchard area, hopefully I'll see some of y'all around.

and the Okie thread. There are lots of BYCers in your area.

Okla, the caster bean plants are looking good and the purple hyacynth are looking great. The vining okra is struggling, but I think I will be able to baby some through.

Went to the sale yesterday and sold most of my birds and critters. Just kept things that were either unreplaceable or at least very hard to replace for me. We went back to Okla. last week for a couple of days. Wife had an interview back there. Haven't heard anything yet. But I decided its time to concentrate on getting back there. So less money spent on feede means more for getting started on building a place to stay. I hope ot start making longer trips back there more often to work on the farm. We had a septic system put in this spring so I have a lot of rock to rake up and yard to get back into shape. I told my wife ,one of us is going back there to work just not for sure which one yet!lol.

Have a great day and hug your mother, they can leave us way to quickly and then are really missed!
Good luck on the interview!!! Where in Oklahoma is the farm? Well said, miss her every day.

Quote: Does this mean you don't want me to say anything to Stephanie when I come Monday to show her how to pack kraut?
