***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Okay, who was it sold me this gorgeous girl again? I just wanted to say thanks because she was so well fed and well taken care of before I got her. She is one determined girl. I put her on the nest on Friday and she has barely eaten or drunk anything, and finally today I physically took her away from the eggs so she would go poo. (HAZMAT TIME!) Anyway, I love, love, love her. Thanks.

I believe you got them from MJ, didn't you? A lady with black glasses? She's got exceptional little Cochins.

went out to coop to check on my birds and found one of my marans had gone to the side of coop for the big chickens not such a good idea. brownie got steeped on i think trying to give him sugar water and see if that helps. i will do my part but the rest is in gods hands. poor thing wont open one eye but the other was wide a looking at me.

Dominiques would work too, we are trying to breed more sexlink chicks and right now I have 8 BR hens but need a younger lot to start raising now. Do you have Dominiques? Or know where I can find them as chicks? I love the barring pattern it is so pretty and adds a bit of a change from the Marans we have. Looks like I am going to have to build a "mutt pen" for all my misfits that won't be breeding this year, lol.
I have a full grown BR rooster if you want to start a breeding program. He's free if you can pick him up in Lawton. We were trying to get only hens. We ended up with Zebra and we were going to keep him because we like him, but we really shouldn't have him in city limits. He's really pretty.

this is chillie hanging with his ladies
Happy stories like this make me love chickens more.

They were my DH's. He is so relieved they have a good home. Most Cochin broodies are sweet, may complain a lot, but don't get mean if you check their eggs. Mine just grumble when I pick them off the nest. Good thing I am not fluent in "Chicken", I think they are cussing a blue streak.
