***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Yes that's them! I am on the website now looking at photos of Ameraucanas.
Does it have a pea comb? Or a single comb? That along with no beard would be the deciding factor, I think.
It's looking like I ended up with 2 male Lavenders and only 1 girl. Can you tell what yours are yet?
For the Black one look up close at his comb. They're old enough now you should be able to see 3 distinct rows on their pea comb if it's a boy. The row in the middle is a little bit higher but you can see the rows on either side of it. The Blue one I got that was brother to yours is a male and his comb is noticeably redder also. They're right about 8 wks now.

Ok, Brandi-I opened the picture in a new tab and it showed a super clear closeup. This is a single comb and not a pea comb. That along with no beard/muff and yellow legs would indicate it's definitely not an Ameraucana. Ams have Blue or Slate (gray) colored legs. Look at the Lavenders and you can see it. This one looks like a Bantam Leghorn. But I've never had a Leghorn and haven't studied them so I may be way off on that one.
Here's the close up. I'm still sticking to "boy", too :) He's really really pretty though.

update on FIL, keep praying, it is colon cancer, but the dr didn't think it is life threatening, they caught it early, maybe the size of a pea, he'll go in monday for pre op tests- stress tests- so keep him and all of the family in prayer

took some pics of the kids... this is one of the fav boys, always wanting to be with people, even after they have been moved outside...

mj, here is one of your hens- she is so darn sweet- and one of the babies- big difference in personality between her and licorice, the cochin broody that took notes from nana's nasty nelly- i don't think this girl has a mean bone in her body

I'll have to look tomorrow. The black one and lavender will let me touch them but not the white ones. I took this earlier today. It's always curious about what I'm doing. It will even come up to the wire with the red star girls like it's waiting for me to let them out.

This one's definitely a boy. He's even got a redder comb than his Blue brother that I have. And see his perfect pea comb? He's beautiful! The Black ones are supposed to have black or slate legs.

And I bought them all as Ameraucana at the auction. See what you miss by not making the auctions, Robin? :)
Meant to tell you I'll keep your FIL in my thoughts also.
I keep forgetting to add stuff.
Robin-Brandy (BBAcres) has the Salmon colored Bantam Fav boy who is the brother to yours. Yours is at that awkward looking stage but wait til you see him in a month, he'll be gorgeous. I remember so well when mine were at the gawky stage lol
