Thats a beautiful horse. What breed? I can see why the girls were coming over!! OH by the way Im Doc Henry's other half. LOL

Trooper is was an amazing stud, one of my most gentle horses, a very smooth gait and I love his body comformation. He is a BLM mustang captured out of Alvord Tulle HMA in oregon. He has some kiger in him, he looks like a cross between a quarter horse and a draft comformation wise just sturdy looking. Part of me feels like its a waste to geld him but I'm not looking to breed horses and many people would not find him "attractive" as a stud because he is a mustang. We have adopted 3 mustangs and I will never buy another domestic horse. Mustangs for me only. Hence the name "Cayuse" (Indian name for wild horse)

This is one of his babies from almost 2 years ago. She is gaited.

Ok....correct me if I am wrong just trying to clarify in my mind...

Doc Henry, your hubby is Teach's brother? And you live either in Texas or N.W. Oklahoma...thinking Texas and that Teach is the one in the boondocks.

Horses are my first love too, but making room in there for chickens too. In fact I even took part of their pasture to make the new coop lol.
What kind of horses do you have?
Brb...checking chicks then trooper.

Lynn, for your kitten

For better nutrition, beat one egg yolk into two ounces of warm milk (for a pup it would be 1 yolk to 1 ounce of milk). Let the kitten take as much as it wants. A baby will not over-feed. Kitten formula can be purchased from a vet. If the kitten is 2 months old, it should have meat in it's diet. 1.8 ounces per day....tuna is healthy and can be easily shreaded or put thru a blender.

Kitten/cat temperatures are supposed to be stable at 100 degrees. Above or below is a problem.

Is the kitten eliminating on it's own? At 4 - 6 weeks, the baby should be eliminating without your assistance. Younger than that you may have to stimulate it by using a warm damp cloth imitating the mother cleaning it's bottom. May sound gross but necessary.

Keep us posted

I could send you some modern game bantam eggs if you guys like? I am about done hatching moderns for this year...I have brown reds, birchens and a few silver blue eggs right now...

Sorry. been wandering about cyber space. LOL Yes the package should have the dosage instructions on it and I have seen it at both Atwoods and Tractor Supply. Look in the livestock meds section instead of the chicken meds section.

If I remember right Amprolium is a Tyamin blocker and will starve the Cocci. Plus if you are feeding like a game bird starter drop that back to regular chick starter because it has a lower protien. You can switch back to the other after treatment.

I have FIVE EVIL BROODY HENS! Here I have had Gentle Broody Turkey Hens and now I get EVIL BROODY CHICKEN HENS! Five of them to be exact!

Talk about a COOP full of PMS... no wonder the roosters are steering clear of the coop these past couple of nights... I have had to corral them in their at night where before no problemo..lol

Anyhow here is my question... the b

chy hens are in the nesting boxes that we have mounted up on the side wall... should I move them to more lower grounds in the "nursery" that we have set up for Broody mommas and babies... or can I leave them there and wait till babies come then move them to the nursery? I just dont want to see some chicks try and take flight from that height of the nesting boxes(Jason had to build a ramp for the hens to even get to it.. but narrow enough to keep the dog from getting any ideas...lol
