***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The way that incubator is designed you can just turn or roll the whole incubator several times a day. I have never used it without the turner, but I know many do. The turner allows the eggs to all get a full turn every hour, it turns so slow you never see it move but it is turning all day. I say buy the incubator (search for a coupon code to use) then you can get the turner later if your hatches are not high. However, I have paid $200-$275 for the 2 gqf cabinets we have & the gqf hatcher. The Eco with turner was $200 when i bought mine a few yrs ago so it could be better to find a used sportsman. Even with all the incubators we have running we still come close to running out of room. When we lived in town the Eco was great, as soon as we moved to the farm we had to up grade!
this is what im looking at and yal tell me what you think of them http://www.brinsea.com/prod-Mini_Eco_manual_10_egg_incubator-229.aspx

If your like me you won't mind turning the eggs a few times each day. I like being hands on with our hatching. Now that may change after I have my big redwood full come fall but I have had 5 of the 6 trays going this spring and don't mind going in there and turning eggs at all.

Got my three NN's from the mailman today. They are so pretty and healthy. I just can't believe they were in that box coming through the mail for almost three days!

I am ready to scream. I set 41 eggs in my homicidal LG incubator last month. Today is day 24 and I'm going to give up. Not. One. Pip. Not a single one. Temps were steady the whole time. I have two glass lab thermometers in there, one wet bulb, dry bulb. Humidity spiked like crazy around day 11 because we got a lot of rain and I couldn't control it at all, even with the AC on. That's all I can figure that would have killed them. I candled on day 22 and there was one chick alive and moving, but it never pipped. If I'd had two I would have helped them out, but I'm not going to raise a single chick with no buddies. I totally want to throw this thing into Coyote Creek. :(
