***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I'm going to ask my husband about coming to Muskogee on Saturday but I know we can't get there until around 4. I hope some of you are still around. I really need to learn a lot and this would probably be a great start.

Okies! This bunch of folks are so kind and so good. They share their love of chickens freely with encouragement for newbies and enabling for all. They are awesome and it is exciting to think that NEOCS is so close!! Really, you should come - its only once a year. But then there is always POOPS a couple of months earlier in the year...

Jens-Hens, welcome to your too.

Hey, these folks stay around at these meets until... until all needs are met! I was really late to POOPS this year and missed a chicken exchange, but the lovely folks here helped me out and I'll always be grateful to them. So come on...it'll be a nice drive to Muskogee!

They are looking for 2 of each:
Rhode Island Red
Barred Rock
Ameracauna or Easter Egger

Any help would be appreciated!!!

I had to come inside and take a couple of aspirin and shower off the little sticker bits of hay that were making me crazy. I need to get back out there before dark. The last time I picked up a bale after dark it had a snake under it. I really don't like snakes. Dark makes snakes look scary.

Here's my afternoon load before I got it stacked on pallets in the shop. I think I'll have some muscles complaining tomorrow morning.

One of my sitting ducks showed up today with a herd of 14 freshly hatched ducklings, she looks way too small to have covered that many eggs let alone hatched out so many there were only 4 eggs left in the nest that were bad so a great job on her part, I have one duck still sitting and 3 hens on eggs, I'll have lots of chicks and maybe a few ducklings at NEOCS that is if I can catch any of them LOL

man has it been a long day with starting to potty train my son. now baking chocolate chocolate chip cookies for hubby to take to work tomorrow. I'm getting sleepy but cant turn in till the cookies are done.

Hello again, I have been here reading posts since I joined. . . . . .I just needed some time before I shared. Last week while proudly sharing my pictures and telling you all about my bestest girl-friend, my son an my god daughter were outside building a temp. run for the chicks. I had tended to all my birds, an let them out to run the yard, worked in the garden for awhile then came inside. Someone let out our two female pups, which constantly need supervision (only 11 weeks old). They got ahold of my girl. The kids did not notice, they were hammering posts in the ground. By the time they noticed the pups were out, she was already gone. My Helen never had a chance. . . . I have lost others, but this is so different. She was so sweet, she wanted to be with us! That is all she ever wanted, this is so hard. I feel like a boob. I am just glad I shared her with the group.
