***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Had a great time at NEOCS meeting new folks and visiting and catching up with the folks I already knew. Looking forward to the next one!

Really need to toss out a public, "Thanks!" to Sixshooter and his DW, they helped me load my truck and clean up before they left...always a great time getting around those two!

Old Cowboy and banjojoe was awesome as auctioneers...sixshooter and others were bringing the birds through, seemed liked they had been working together for years...

Didn't get to make it around much...pretty busy in my little "store", wished I could have seen everyone else's wares. Did get to bring home some awesome honey though! Thanks lonnyandrinda!
it was soo nice to get to viset with you gain

KASS! i am so sorry!!

coral-again...WONDERFUL EVENT!!

bfrancis- looks like boaz and your game hen are a fit- wasn't sure at first, but he has simered down a bit

and another shot of rusty- the showgirl cockerel from betsy- he has the most gorgeous eyes! Betsy, what color would he be considered? And can you pm me your address so i can pay you... i love this guy!

Haven't thought of a name for my sweetheart yet, but I'm in luv!
I love this picture! This is like those books about "Women and their Dogs" and "Women and their Cats". I think there should be a "Women and their Chickens" book. Because so many of us do keep them as pets.

Robin, the Showgirl cracks me up, they always have although I think they're a way cool looking bird. I'd like to have a white one someday maybe. I'm glad the OEGB is a match for the Serama. It makes perfect sense it would seem they'd stick up for themselves and not let the boy push them around. I can't believe I forgot your Oxine! I purposely put it where I'd have to step right over it so I wouldn't forget it. Yet I did

I'll figure out a way to get it to you.
I must've missed whatever it was the got people upset, that's unfortunate. I don't know what happened but I'm sorry for the bad feelings. I thought it was awesome that there were birds there I'd never even seen in real life. People worked very hard since last fall for the event. In hindsight I wish I'd have gotten a motel room and been able to stay and help clean up. It makes me feel bad I didn't. And honestly-I can't help but be grateful for the beautiful birds I got. We spent the day out finishing their yards. Since I hadn't planned ahead of time on the LF Cochin pair we split the 60x85 Araucana yard into 2 yards and they'll each get a nice sized yard.

Kass, thank you so much for all the pictures! I brought my camera and was so dumbfounded by all the pretty birds that I forgot to take a single picture. It's starting to get dark under the trees so I ran out and got some pictures of the Araucanas from Joe and the Brown Reds from Terrapin Station. The rumpless butts on the Araucanas are so cute. They're in 4X8 pens until I get them settled in and wormed and all that good stuff. (Don't worry, Joe, the pens are inside of fenced yards). The lady did say Brown Red hens normally have a lot more gold on their necks (not that I'd care). I think all these birds are just gorgeous. They were made to be my birds :)
I'm loving those Showgirls. I think the picture of Tracy and her Frizzle Cochin is awesome!

i love this pic the roo looks so shiny he looks fake lol

looking at that pic makes me miss him

Aww, I know exactly how you feel. I promise you he'll never go to ANYone ever except back to you. You have my word. I love him so much. I gave them some oats and corn earlier for a treat and he clucked and clucked and called his girls like he'd struck oil lol He's such a good good boy to his girls. I'm going to make sure he gets lots of girls.
