Yes, I'm trying to picture me sitting in the barn waiting and waiting and waiting....and it flying away.

you make a bird trap! Several different ways....one is to put a conical lead into a wire cage with some grain in it (helps to put another bird in it (species you want to trap...decoy) the narrowing of the cone lets them squeeze in one way but not back out. Another way is to use dangel bob thingies...you have a cage with an opening and over the opening you put dangle things that will only swing so the bird can go into the cage not back out. You can also employ a more advanced type system with larger openings that reguires the bird to fly back out the opening but the opening is too small for this but that takes a little more work but very effective

look up pigeon traps....it will give you some ideas...

you could always use a high power hose and soak it! Not real effective but fu on a hot day!

It will fly into the barn while I'm in there, but it lands in the rafters....could suspend the cage up there..... will try the dangle bob thingies...have some clear soft plastic that would work if clipped into strips like those used for grocery or meat lockers.

Edited to add: Looked up the Pigeon traps and will try making dangle bob to fit the cage I have... I can take the door off and modify a dangle with cage clips.....

if you can get it found in the dark you can catch it off the roost real easy....well...i fyou can get to where it is roosting easily!

WOOT!! I'm singing the praises of the minnow/Snake trap today!! LOL Get your stick Joe I'm not gonna be just reaching in to grab this one for sure!~

I didn't see the copperhead in the trap last night but I might have just missed it it blended in real well with the bedding in the floor of the coop the trap was placed about 2 feet from one of the hens with chicks, I'm very glad to have this one caught and gone from my yard.
