That is an amazing bird!

Oh, I am so glad you caught him, but I'm really sorry about the two babies too. I hate snakes. Hate 'em. They need to eat the gophers and moles and leave my chicks and eggs alone. If they did that, we'd be just fine.

Large quantity of canning jars, quarts and pints. Some have rust around the rings. Bring boxes and help yourself.

Nothing some steel wool and elbow grease wouldn't clean. Done that many times.
Neighbor just gave me 96 quart jars...so someone else should grab these!

I lost one of my babies today, little fuzzy butt, the splash chickie doo. Have no idea what happened he was all playing and being a little chickie doo w/ the rest yesterday, fine when they got put to bed, but this morning was pretty lethargic and died about mid morning.

at least his short life was spent in the garden looking for bugs w/ his other chickie doo buds.
So sorry. I don't know which is worse; losing a young bird or a bird you have come to know well because you have had them a long time?

Hope everyone has had a great fourth. It has been a good one here. Started out with one of our cats haveing kittens! First timer and she didn't know what to do so I had to lay on the bed and keep her calmed down till the first one came out. She was just nervous and didn't know what was going on. Ended up with four, three orange ones and one hell cat( thats what I call the black calicos, because they are always mean!lol) Then we had lunch with the kids at Famous Daves. I think there is only one in Okla. but its worth your while to go try it.
Also had an ice hen hatch out a dozen ice babys . Really tickled about them!

Very nice day for you! Are all the chicks Icelandics?

Yes they are all pure Icelandics! I had two hens left after the fox attack and they both went to setting. One was on their eggs and the other is on Ice eggs from Greybear plus some game eggs from him. My mutt hen is on ice eggs and WCBpolish eggs.
