***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Kass, your chickens are beautiful

That Araucana boy's going to be a looker!
Bill, the babies in the brooder took right to these water jugs with the nipples on them. I can hear the little tap-tap-tap of them drinking from them right now. And SO much less mess this way.
Didn't catch a coon last night in either of the traps but they'll be set until we catch something. I feel bad for my little Modern boy, he walks around just looking for his 2 little girls all the time. He's such a good little rooster. I'll never find a healthy Modern girl again, I'll probably put him with one of the OEGB hens. He's the type of rooster that's so sweet and gentle on his hens that he deserves to have some.

Mitzi! i am so sorry! poor little guy- what is the diff between a modern and an oegb??

i was hoping we'd get more rain than we got- didn't even puddle around here

our girls started getting 20% layer feed and suddenly we are swimming in eggs! why didn't anyone mention that would kick them into gear??

Love the chick pics Kass. You always take such nice pictures of your birds. Mine always seem to run away or turn their heads about the time I snap the pic.

Well, we didn't get an answer today on the goats. Seems someone forgot that the city would be closed for the holiday weekend today when they scheduled our appt. Hmmm. Surely they will say yes though, they are only pygmys, not full grown ones and there are people down the street with llamas and miniature horses. AND we've been very responsible with our chickens and turkeys and ducks ... but I guess we'll have to wait until at least Tuesday now. We've been wanting goats for a while now and are now to the point where we can move forward with getting them and even found some we want ... but I don't want to get them and get attached and then have a neighbor complain and the city make us get rid of them so it's best if we just wait for approval first.

Have a good swap tomorrow. Our son came home today for the weekend so we'll be going the opposite direction. We have got to make it an auction or swap sometime soon. It just seems like there's never enough time to get everything done.

Thanks, it is just patience and taking lots of pics, For the 5 or so I post I may have taken 50 or more that are either deleted or just not worthy of being posted.

Morning! Be safe over the long weekend, everyone.

I gave myself a treat: slept until 7:00, just finished my coffee, and now I'm headed out to tend the goats and birds. We're planning to see the Obama documentary, 2016, this afternoon. I have heard a lot about it, and I'm expecting to hear some interesting commentary from folks as the movie ends.

Joe - I should have some NN baby pictures to poster later today : )

Morning all, i am heading out to the Guy Rose Auction south of Stillwater this morning, sale starts at 9am, hope to see some BYCers there, Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend!!! Did anyone see the Blue Moon last night??? have a great day, Lynn

Here is a Picture of the Payne County Fair, Chickens area, a friend of mine is the superintendent over the chickens area, this is a picture of one of his little helpers at the fair!!! Lynn

Love the pictures of birds and little helpers!

Has anyone checked their pecan trees this year? We have between 35 and 40 native pecan trees that are holding their nuts even with the drought. Looks like we will need to find someone to shake and harvest for us this year since our regular man retired his business last year.

Lynn, I love that little helper girl at the fair! I wish I had 10 of them just like her to help me :)

Pretty eggs! That's what I love about Ameraucanas and EE's and my Araucanas-such cool eggs. 'Cept I only ended up with 2 Araucana girls out of 7 for my hatch :-/ Good thing I got the 3 pullets from Joe before that. Now to decide which male to put with the 5 girls.
Moderns are the long-legged ones, that's why I named my boy Spideyman lol Your 1-legged girl is a Modern. Old English Game Bantams are tiny but have regular sized legs (for their size). I love the Moderns. I'm kicking myself now for not hatching any of the eggs from them while the girls were here. I was so flippin' scared of getting boys that I never hatched any of them :-/
