***OKIES in the BYC III ***

MacG we part out our Cockerals. They take less room in the freezer. Today's lunch free range chicken wings. Poor Taron had a frozen burrito even though chicken wings are her favorite. I know she would have eaten store bought chicken wings.

Ooohhhh, I like that. What are drop pens?
I think all the time how much time and money I could've dedicated to a group of only 20 birds or so. I could've had a huge air conditioned coop and so many other things if I'd have just stuck to 20. But honestly-I don't think I could pick only 20 birds from all of mine and let the others go. Someday though when I don't have so many.....

Thanks!

A drop pen is a small movable pen, I usually build `em `4 X `4.

Oh! Sort of like a tractor that you can move to fresh grass.
Here's the little Duckwing I got yesterday. It was your girl that started it all lol

Can't get a decent enough shot of the Spitzhaubens to do them justice so I won't post those til I can do better. Got some pretty ones with the sun going down of my precious Brahma girls, my Faverolles cockerel and one of the Lavender Ameraucana girls. Carl hatched this batch for me last March.

Mitzi you know those were all Tarons favorite boys, if not we never would have kept them. She only keeps her favorites. Sad thing is do you know how many chickens it takes to make a large batch of wings???

I'm kinda glad that the boys don't get super attached to the chickens. That way they'll eat 'em.

I love those Brahmas!

I got a little pullet from Elie Mae tonight, think she is a Olive Egger - Americauna beard and dark feathered legs and feet. I can keep her with my Cochin flock and will know not to hatch the olive eggs. i already do that with an Easter Egger. Yeah!, I get another chicken and don't have to try to figure out more pens!
