And none is so deserving than a guinea! OMG you could almost charge admission for that lol
I would pay money to see it. More so if I could pick the guinea!

See mitzi you figured out a good solution just build a bigger coop & get more hens for your boys to share! Told you to ask Santa for a barn, and I know you wouldn't have any problem finding more ladies. You could use all the small coops for grow out pens. In my largest coop it's pretty dangerous walking in with treats or feed. There is plenty of space but 4dz+ birds all trying to get to the first treat pan while you walk to the next is very hazordous. We have tried filling pans & brining them in but the result is the same. Then I started locking the chickens out, filling feeders & treats-- seems to be the only way to avoid broken bones from tripping over a chicken.
The momma goat has been in the pen for an hour. Imagine when she is done napping she will come back out. Her 7m old kid is still nursing!

Yea, but count your blessings. When you told your husband you wanted Seramas in a cage in the bedroom he didn't throw you down the steps or anything!
Heh. My hubby doesn't do violence. I could probably tell him I wanted to keep razorback hogs in a cage in the bedroom and he'd just raise his eyebrows and say "No, I don't think so." and go back to his computer stuff. :)

I have a question......If supplemental light is used to keep your hens laying, is it best if you do in in the morning or at night??? Is 14 hours of light enough?? Thanks

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sat. I have done alot of nothing today. Got birds taken care of today and instead of moving Nathanael's birds to the feed house we moved cages to the empty hoop house and put a heat lamp in there. They seem to be loving their new spaces. Plus since they are in the hoop house he can go out during the day and let them have turns running loose in there. Of course Mr. Red got the first turn to run loose, he hasn't gotten to free range since an owl took up residence in the back yard.

Here is a picture of Nathanael "trying" to feed and water everyone in their new pens. Of course Red has to be in the middle of it all. Nathanel keeps begging to build a small cage for Mr. Red and his girls.
