Thanks for the info.I use 2.25 ml for each gal of water for 3-5 days. I write the dosage on my goats bottle of liquid safeguard just so I don't forget! I worm again in 10-14 days & dont sale the eggs but feed the eggs to the birds or dogs for at least 3 days after each worming. Best to worm when egg production is low so it doesn't feel so painful tossing all the eggs.
I got some Gallimycin and it has worked great on my hen! She has had that rattle oft and on since I got her about a year ago but two days after I started her on the Gallimycin there was no rattle. She has never acted sick and lays consistently. In fact, she is one of only two laying now. The other is a pullet that has been laying for 2 months now but her sisters, the same age, haven't yet. The rattling hen and the pullet were both in the garage during the dog attack so maybe the others are still tramatized? It has been more than two months since the attack but moulting time came after that. Who knows the mind of a hen -

Last night at Newcastle I talked with Carrie, a chicken friend of Jack's that lives near us. She has several breeds and is the person looking for Buff Orpingtons. Her oldest Grandson, Joshua, is often with with her. He is maybe 15 and raises Burbon Reds and Ameraucanas. His Ameraucanas are still laying; 14 hens are still producing 10 to 14 eggs a day! He wouldn't tell me his secret.
