Before coffee this morning, added another little pen to the grow out section and separated the youngest babies....they looked too crowded in the one rabbit cage. I put down cardboard in the bottom with pine shavings so they don't have to stand on the wire bottom. When I checked last night, all but two of the 3 month olds were up on roost bars. The two on the ground were in a corner so I placed 2x12 boards on the outside to protect them from a skunk or racoon...just in case. This morning everybody was accounted for and happy as clams.
Enjoyed my coffee on the deck while the boys moved cows and then they were late for breakfast because they couldn't find the new calf....so they didn't move all the pairs. Some momma cows are pros at hiding out their babies.
Got to plant fall potatoes in the beds cleared of onions today and water, water, water. I need to spray the squash, pull the english peas and plant more cucumbers. Then pull the last of the spinach for the chickens and plant more radishes and lettuce.....then the yard needs mowing and weed wacking. Hope hubby gets back to help me with that.
I have jars of sand plum juice and blackberry juice that needs to be made up into jelly too...that's a hot day job for inside....maybe today or tomorrow.
Welcome to the new folks.
We lost little Spunky last night. Hoped for the best, but was expecting it. I never could get it to eat enough for a full crop.
Will post pictures later of the outside pen set up and Spunky cheeping to the mirror chick.
