***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Now that would make anyone love showgirls! Perfect little bll on its head.

Welcome new folks.dmorrischx3 are you still in Oregon or in Okla? What part of Oregon you from?

dauflin I'm not from that area but we have a lot of fokls that are so I am sure someone will be able to point you to the right feed store.

lonnyandrinda so sorry for you lost birds. Its always the favorites that get done in.

kenny99 I've had fair hatches out of shipped eggs. If your getting scramble ones then someone isn't wrapping them well enough. Thats not to say that a lot aren't used for football practice by the great folks at the post office but usually you can get a decent hatch from shipped eggs if they are good and fresh and fertile when shipped. Try one more time, just wait till its warmer!

Set 28 only 4 hatched that I shipped and all of my own hatched out of first time breeders cockerel and pullets. So kinda think its a ship thing.
Yeah I was kinda thinkin the postal employees get a kick outta shakin things that say fragile.

Yeah I've probably not givin up on buying them just yet but will wait for warmer weather

I won jacks BCM eggs at poops. They were so pretty dark eggs & think i had 9 out of 12 hatch. Now the pullets also lay the prettiest dark eggs. (sorry cant say if they are show quality, not my expertise). However Taron collects all the chocolate eggs & fills a whole carton full that are only for her. If she catches me gifting a dark egg I get reprimanded. If I think of it I will try & snap a few pics of the eggs tomorrow so you can see the beautiful color!

As far as shipped eggs....... Gamble gamble gamble. But so are auction eggs. I have gotten partially incubated eggs before -- when Cement was still having their auction I bought 6dz eggs & think 3 hatched!!! You never know how the eggs have been stored, handled or their true age. I will buy eggs if I know whose they are or if they are cheap.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Tempted to go to auction tomorrow night just to get out of the house. Maybe in a few more wks I will be up to driving then the girls & I can catch a good chicken auction.
