Morning, Chicken Friends

Lots of ice out there this morning. The flock is tolerating the cold weather. Something big flew between the security light and me, casting an ominous shadow. I wasn't fast enough to put my buckets down and aim my flash light to see what it was. Vesta wasn't alarmed, so maybe it was just a confused daytime flyer.

I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a hawk. We have a few that have been giving my birds fits this last weekend. Flew over 3 times while I was out cleaning pens last Friday. The last time it was already 4:30 so I went ahead and put the birds up in their enclosed yards that have tops on them. That way they could still scratch and do chickeny things but be safe from attacks from that darn old hawk.

Well the girls are definately laying now! LOL This is the huge egg I got from one of my Black Australorps. I am used to seeing these big eggs from my black sex link hens but not from my BA girls! The egg to the left of it is another BA egg the egg to the right is one of my sons EE mix eggs and the ones in front are Cuckoo Marans eggs.


Then some pictures from Friday when everyone was enjoying the sunshine.


Some of my layers, this is a mixed yard of girls that we don't use for breeding.

My Blue Splash Marans (well some of them the other 4 girls were sitting eggs that I didn't dare try to take until they were done with their nests!

My Buff Orpingtons. This boy is named so lovingly by my little boys, Buffy Puffy. He is a pretty boy and he knows it! LOL

Hi every one ..Went to the Blanchard sale seen lot's of BYCers lot's said they dont post any more because it is one of the hardest site's to get on ..I no iv had time's i couldnt log in.. An when i did i would go back a few page's an it would shut me off..An Buckguy said that is why he dont post any more he could not get logd back on...

I'm getten to

to go through all that. That's why I stay looged in, even when I'm not on the puter.

Then I don't need to go through all that bunk. It automatically comes back on with me still looged in when I start it up.

That's what I do also Tony. I do the same for FB and other favorite sites.

Back home from the doctor in the city. Got my injections in the back of my neck and head...the whole back of my head is numb, but my neck doesn't hurt now....will be three months before the next injections. Better than surgery. Will go down for a nap and be good as new.
Let the layer flock out and half of them took wing when they got out of the run...they were so excited. Then they took off for the back of the barn where the best green grass is located...squawking and telling it all the way.
