i just think they needed to come home- its really amazing!

Wow! This guy looks almost exactly like our little mottled cochin who is super sweet and personable and thinks he is 20 feet tall. Does yours have that same attitude? I've been told it is a breed thing.
He is a little more bossy than my other Cochin roos but he is the oldest. One other guy, my smallest roo, my bantam Buff cochin and he thinks he is the the biggest. My large fowl Buff Cochin roo is the most mellow. All of them are calmer than my Ameraucana and LaFleche roosters.

I'll try to be there. Thanks for the information. I'm new to this and need all the help I can get.

Love to see all the pictures this morning. Coral that picture belongs in a frame!

Okla, that is neat you got your girls back! I am sure they are glad to be home with you as well.

Today looks to be another good one before the cold hits tomorrow. Wish I could be at home outside working in the pens instead of at work. But gotta earn a paycheck so we can feed them, lol.

Hubby had to get up last night and go prowl around the pens, had a raccoon (or at least what we think was one) out stalking the coops. Good ol' Jake the wonder dog was on duty though and was barking up a storm. We have been putting him in a large dog crate in the laying hens pen at night. They don't seem to mind much. I was afraid his barking would disturb them but we are getting just as many eggs from them since we moved him. I do have one pen I am not getting eggs from and not sure why. So this week they are not getting to free range to see if they are laying out in the open yard where we can't find them. I hate to not let them out of their enclosed yard but I know we are loosing eggs someplace. There are 35 hens in that 20x50 yard and only getting maybe 3-4 eggs a week. They have a huge dog feeder of layer pellets avail at all times and get fermented grains once a day.

Oh and have eggs in the incubator that should be hatching this weekend! I am so excited! We should have had a hatch yesterday but it was one in the incubator when we lost power one day for 10 hours. So this next hatch we should see babies! I am so excited to have chicks around again. The brooders are ready with clean shavings and the feed and water dishes have been sanitized and waiting or babies to arrive. Our last batch of chicks are now 10 weeks old so we are ready for some new babies.

For my fellow Okie Whovian's I just saw a FB post that says the new Doctor season is going to start on Easter Sund. March 30 th I think they said.

Hey all long time no see! Just making a quick stop in. I am looking for an incubator with an automatic turner. Any suggestions? Needs to stay under $200. Also going to build me a brooder to go in my new gardening shed once the hubs get me some electricity down there. I do know that I am gonna hatch some naked necks first. Going to cross them with my silver pheonix roo!

Well, we lost one of the babies last night so we have three turkey poults now and of course, one of them is already strutting around like he's a 30 lb adult male.

It's so cute to watch. Decided to keep these three since we know we can hatch them now. Going to try and sell the next batch though. Anyone want white holland turkey eggs or poults just send me a PM. I'm getting 3 eggs a day right now and have 25 in the bator.

In other news, my tomato seeds have sprouted.

Have two other flats of seeds planted as well as a 36 cell of artichokes. With it being as warm as it is I get to put them out in the greenhouse during the day and bring them in at night. A lot of fussing and moving them but it's easier than rigging up plant lights and fans inside somewhere. Not sure where I'm going to plant 100 tomato plants ... Guess it's time to turn some more yard into garden beds.

Hi all. Just wanted to share some of my egg pics with you. I had saved back 4 Supergynormose eggs that I was going to weigh and take pictures of. Well............DH (dear husband) weighed 3 of them 4 me then proceeded to put them in cartons and take them to work to sell. UGH! Trying to 'help'. I wanted to see if they were double yolkers or just big. I know they had to be at least 3" long and their weights were (in grams) 92.0, 94.3 and 101.1!!!

They all come from one of my smaller hens (which surprised me! but I caught her in the act. lol) This isn't a fluke or unusual for her, she lays like that consistantly. I had gotten those 4 eggs in 6 days. I'd say she's a "keeper".

These are 'normal' from my Austrolorpes. They were taken before I got my digital scales.

Have a great evening everyone. I need to go fill up the feed and water as tomorrow our high is going to be 39*. It is 55* now so I don't want to put it off.
