I moved raspberries again today, I'm getting close to finishing removing them from the old bed. I have 170 feet so far, 100 is in the bed I made, but I ran out of space so the 70 feet is in a new, new bed which unfortunately is in the area of the yard the chickens have access to, so not counting on actually harvesting any of those. lol But hey free chicken food right???? They all had fun helping me plant them.

Hey All,

i faithfully read this thread, just dont say much

monday night i had an owl get in one of my pens,it had just shade netting on top, and it killed all my spangled cornish bantam hens. My Boy must have hid well cause he is ok. They pen has been repaired and proofed ( now has a full metal roof).
Long shot here, but does anyone here happen to have any Spangled cornish bantams hens or pullets they can part with?
I would be glad to purchase out right, trade chicks back from my roo, or i also keep Asil, Bantam Malay, and Large Dark cornish i could trade.
thanks for your help...this has been so upsetting, these were very special birds it took me along time to find and i work hard to keep the pens predator proof and havnt had a loss in two years...it is of course always the irreplaceable ones :-(

thanks for your time...it feels like i already know a bunch of you from reading this

So sorry you lost them. I lost 11 cochins last summer to 2 dogs. I lost several really special ones.

what is it about today- predator practice day? had a close call on the flock as well, the hawk missed, can't figure out how, considering the birds were all in one of their favorite hangouts- no losses, just some jittery birds

Good Morning Friends and Neighbors!

It`s cloudy and 36°F here this morning and it`s not going to warm up much either but it`s one day closer to the weekend, so have a good one!

Keep `em crowing!
