I'm so upset

came home & found all my hens except 1 dead & my rooster only had 3 hens & rooster because I've had hawks & the neighbor's dog killing them. I suspect the neighbor & his dog cause chickens were just laying dead looked like they had ran all over pen & had bite marks. this is what happened to my others just have not seen the dog doing it. what else kills chickens in the day & leaves them layin?

Sorry countryhen. I vote a dog is highly likely. A hawk takes the entire bird, you may only find a few feathers.
Sad you lost your flock. So sorry.

Sounds like a dog attack to me as well.

So sorry. I think dog too.

I have a question about dog/cat behaviour if anyone knows. I have a dog and cat that adore each other, but the dog likes to pull the cats hair out, by big clumps, and even more disturbing the cat lets it happen and even appears to enjoy it. Does anyone know what is up with that????

I have two cats that are inseperable. We got one as a week old kitten after it's mother had died and bottle fed it, the other had already had kittens and took to washing it from time to time. Eventually, the "momma" cat licked the other one so much that the kitten was bald around it's neck for a long time. Now that they are older, the older cat still from time to time will lick all the hair off the other one in a spot or two and the other one doesn't seem to mind at all. I've never had a dog pull out the cats hair though. If it's not bothering it though, and the cat's skin isn't red or raw from it, I wouldn't worry about it too much. The cat will get tired of it if it gets to be too much. Maybe with as warm a winter as we've had it feels good to the cat because they are starting to shed early?? Just a thought ...

Good Thursday morning! It`s a frosty start to the day here this morning, 23°F / -5°C.....It`s been awhile since the birds water has frozen. I`m getting a few eggs but I`m collecting them because of the the overnite low temps (no bator, I hen hatch)...I`m looking forward to my 1st hatch here in about 4 years.

I hope y`all have a great day! 47 daze until Spring!
