***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Yes, they are in a breeding pen but the hen is off and on with laying. For a while she was laying 6 eggs a week but with the up and down temps, she has been sporadic for about 5 weeks. I hatched 6 chicks this Winter but only2 have survived. I wonder if they aren't hardy because of a narrow gene pool or just that it is Winter? I sure have less success with Winter chicks in general.
 
would be interested in some wheaten / blue wheaten ameraucana hens or pullets not a bunch just a few , NN ,and could use a pheonix roo color isnt important

Lynn , the sumatra are large fowl as well as the houdans , the buttercups are bantam tho


winter chicks are a bit harder to raise , well for me that is , its almost like that dont thrive as well

yup only bantams are the sicilian buttercups and the few silkies the rest are large fowl ... would gladly do swapping so no one has to worry about money , makes it alot easier
 
I have been on site about 3 weeks needed to know some thing about chickens been about 50 years since i had one. Found a wealth of info, built a chicken palace and ordered chicks to day. I always had white chickens in the past, this time i ordered 5 different kinds and a slwyandotte rooster.a brown egg chickens. may be they will help with my retirement. I live in the Grand lake area of Oklahoma Richard mc
