***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Today was a horrible day here at my house. A day I knew in my heart was coming, but hoped would not. Gardening won't be the same this year, Yeta the wonder chicken is gone. Everyone knows she wasn't one to be stopped by a fence, well today she hopped the wrong fence. My heart is heavy, but she got a better life then a lot of other chickens.
sorry for your loss kass

Anyone have Welsummers, I need some welsummer chicks, pullets preferred!!!! Lynn
Lynn - I have one. Send me a PM. She is in her first laying season. Her eggs are really dark.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts.
Kass - So sorry to hear about Yetta. She had an adventurous life for a chicken. You could remember her in a children's picture book. I'm sure lots of kids (and adults!!!) would delight in reading it. I have had some sad afternoons this year due to people dumping dogs in the country. My birds never leave our inner yard when free ranging, but dumped dogs don't respect our boundaries. I'm sending you a PM in a few minutes. I need to finish catching up on the thread.

Happy Saturday, everyone : ) I've been heads-down cranky over a pile of papers. Friday was the end of the third quarter, and grades were due before we left the building. I entered the last makeup test grade at 3:30. I'm going to have an amazing spring break because Mom's visiting. She's riding into town on a Greyhound, and I'll drive her back up the mountain (Taos) at the end of the week. I'm soooo in need of a mother-daughter week.

Joe - I'm going to send you a PM about June. DH is not in agreement. I'll explain in my message.

Johnouthouse - Sending you a PM too. DH looked at the bearings and said he wants to bring the trailer into the shop some time this week so that he can repack the bearings before the trailer moves off the property. You've probably sent me a PM. I'm almost caught up on posts. I'll answer before I go back outside this morning.

Hey everyone, we are getting stuff ready for the Blanchard sale. Bringing 6 Appleyard Ducklings that are too cute! Hope to see many of you soon!

Did everyone get lots of rain? I know my ducks sure enjoyed the shower, they love flapping their wings in the rain.

Hi everyone, had a long day and drive yesterday, Went to Vian to meet with Donnie and headed back south with 8 pretty little Silver Pheonix and 4 Mottled Houdan chicks, love, love, love them! Thank you so much and was great meeting you!
On the way home, I stopped by the Wister auction that had around 1500 head according to auctioneer Robert Crozier, and purchased a pretty little Serama pullet for my roo and a pair of Blue Brassy Back, all three from Villamil Farms. We left around 1:45 am, and the auction was still going, poor Joe! I was so tired I totally forgot to thank Joe for bringing the pullet, so thank you Joe!
I look forward to seeing what you bring to the next one. (still need a bantam Cochin...hint, hint, nudge, nudge)
