Beautiful day outside. This pretty egg greeted me today. :)

planted canas and clematis, hopefully they will grow happy by the run

enjoying getting back to a somewhat normal routine- got these 2 bantams for my broody silky who had tried with two batches to hatch, so i get home and she has quit and no chicks thank you very much! sooo... i am hoping they are cochins, cute little buggers

So a lady called and asked to put her 7 year old son on the phone to let me explain why the daddy duck is trying to drown the momma duck in the pond. Once I explained to the lady what the ducks were actually doing that was a conversation that she fortunately said that she would have with her son.
I just read that you are breeding Lavender Cochins, I am too. I have two pens breeding right now. One Lavender cockerel over 2 black hens and in the other; a Black roo over 3 Lavender pullets.

Sorry to be so late in responding. Life just gets away from me and I can't catch up on this thread. I painted the shells with acrylic paint before breaking them up really small. You have to peel out the membrane inside of them first. I finished my chicken one too. I'll try to get pics posted tomorrow. My son wants a dragon one but I'm not sure I'm up to that level yet. I find it kind of relaxing ... I can kind of zone out while I do it.

I found some planting garlic bulbs for a good price today so I planted some more, they may be a bust for this year, but should grow over the season and still be good for next year right????

Not sure. We usually plant in the fall and harvest the next summer, however, my grandmother had garlic all over her yard that just came up randomly and she harvested when she needed it or wanted it.

MJ those are some pretty birds. Love the fluffy butts.
Today I noticed some aspargus is up & the redbuds are blooming. Soon trees will be covered again. I have been watching Bambi close waiting for her to go into labor, but of course she is still running & jumping like normal. I am sure when I leave the house she will drop a kid.
