So many egg choices so little incubator/and yard space

Choosing generation next from "divining" eggshells is nervewrecking!!!! lol lol lol It would be so much easier w/o choices if I just had enough eggs to fill the bator.

I have a friend looking for Coronation Sussex or Light Sussex eggs for her incubator. I don't have a roo any more, so I can't help her. If you have eggs available, send me a PM. Thanks : )

DH came home tonight since I couldn't get the heat to work. He spent the past hour messing with it. I asked how was our propane level. Guess what its empty! We are suppose to be on route delivery where they check our tank once a month & keep it topped off as needed. Will be on the phone with them in the AM.
On a good note,
We are at 3.5 inches of rain!!!!

When I am planting seeds with a hard shell like morning glory or okra, soaking overnight in buttermilk not only softens the shell, but seems to inoculate the sprout.

That's a new one on me. I'll have to try that with my okra this year. Thanks.

We've had about .75 inches of rain so far in slow long drippy segments over the last two days, of course most of today was sleet rather than actual rain. Turkeys are most decidedly not happy. Could have knocked my husband in the head today as he let the bantys out in the rain. My silkie was smart and just hunkered down in his own pen but the silly little cochin had to take a romp to find "his" girls (two silver wyandottes and two red sex link ... yes, he tries to mate with them too which is rather comical as they walk off with him perched on their backs) and ended up looking like a wet rag mop.

Love the rain but am ready for the cold to be gone for awhile. This is the winter that almost never came and now won't leave.

I knew you were suppose to soak peas in buttermilk, but didn't know about the other seeds.

last time I looked we had 1.5 inches, but it has rained more since then.

that is interesting i never heard of that before, i don't usually keep butter milk around though maybe ill have to pick some up.
