***OKIES in the BYC III ***

yea, chicks... what did you decide on for your next generation?
I selected both colored and brown eggs (nn and ee) and a few of the hooda's tiny white eggs. I almost didn't even try those since the hooda's are on the small side and their eggs are tiny, but Little Man has a really liking for them so thinking a hooda x araucana may be interesting. None of the chickens are seperated so they are going to be fathered by one of the 3 boys (oreo ee, jaxom dark skinned nn, or little man araucana) poss moms are ee, nn, top knoted nn, and hooda. I know for sure at least one of the moms is skyfire, after I had a known skyfire egg, I went back into the recently laid eggs to see if I could find any other poss or likely skyfire eggs.

I am really wanting to have some tailless females, and Sc carriers in female, and would love to have another skyfire female. All males and any female not stated above is subject to freezer camp or rehoming.

After almost 10 days of watching Bambi pretend she was in labor & she wasn't we finally have 2 beautiful little girls!!!! Never saw her in labor, we found her just after she kidded. Only saw her push out the placenta. The human kids are fighting over names of course.

2 weeks ago my hubby and I got 6 pullets, this is our first time having chickens so I'm looking for some advice. A few of our girls have stinky diarrhea and I was wondering if there is anything I can/should be doing to help them? Or is it not a big deal. They all look healthy and seem to be eating and drinking just fine. They are 2-3 weeks old and are still eating the medicated food.

Here is a pic of our girls.

Do you see blood at all? a few squirts doesn't alarm me, but blood I think Cocci. Even with medicated food they can still get it.

Your sure haveing a time with that calf NaNa! Got my curiosity up! What is love in a puff vine? Never heard that name before.
Raining here today. We really don't need it.Need some sun to dry things out. I turned over my tomatoe beds yesterday. Still not for sure if we have the place sold or not but I couldn't stand not working in the garden anylonger!lol. Also put the pump back in the koi pond. No koi but like to see the water flowing! Can hardly wait till sat.,another big Amish sale. I love going to these. Usually don't bring much if any thing home but they are so fun to see with all the poultry and other stuff. And I love people watching too!lolAnd there are usually enough rednecks and preppy people to make it interesting!lol Have a great day!
Love in a Puff is an annual vine that has small white fragrant flowers followed by a seed husk that has small white seeds with a black heart on each seed.

so cute!

The goats must have been waiting for the weather forecast to improve. I have 2 more that should kid in the next few wks. One is acting off tonight, so thinking she is close..... but they sure are tricky.

Today I was thinking cleaning of goat babies & getting them to nurse sure must be easier then trying to do the same with a calf.
