***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I lost two of my hens last week. A few feathers from one and nothing from the other. Have only let them free range supervised since. At noon today a coyote was at the coop. Will he eventually give up or will I have to take other measures? Is it strange that a coyote is out at noon?

So far I've been to zoos in
Tulsa
OK City
Ft Worth
Albequerque
Gentry
St Louis
Okmulgee
Branson (butterflies)

Just the tip of the iceburg, I would love to be able to afford to go to many more.
I used to have a Zoo membership when I lived in San Diego. That is a great zoo.

We had a coyote problem awhile back. The coyote picked off a chicken every day or so, until one day my DH noticed the coyote in the backyard after a chicken. This was early afternoon! Anyway, that was the last chicken the coyote every chased. DH is a pretty good shot.

Ive seen coyotes running around at all hours while deer hunting and around the house they hunt mostly nights and early mornings but do whatever they want.. he will keep coming back till he gets what he wants or all of them, personally id take him out, if you cant. have someone trap him not to be graphic but id shoot him.

We go to the Wichita Zoo all the time ... or at least did when the kids were somewhat younger. Haven't been in a couple of years but we like it better than the OKC zoo. It's easier to get around, better laid out. If you take one big walk around the zoo you don't miss any exhibits. We've been to zoos all over the country on our zoo membership. Not sure if they still do but any zoo that was part of the Zoological Association offered reciprocal entry with one membership. It was a great deal one year when we hit 12 zoos with our one membership cost.

The few times I've used the Zoological Association reciprocal entry through our Tulsa Zoo Membership I've been rather disappointed. Seems everywhere close enough for us to go to they only give us a couple dollars off the admission, I think the very best I ever got was half off. We've gone to Dallas, Springfield, and Oklahoma City. Springfield was really nice. Dallas I hated that I got all the way down into the zoo with a big stroller and then had to push it uphill all the way back....

San Antonio zoo has major hills!!! DH was recovering from knee surgery #2 & he was in a motorized scooter we rented. That thing putted along. I never would have made it pushing him in a wheelchair!!!

Got an olive egger sitting on zero eggs! She has been sitting for a wk, guess its time to give her some eggs. My birchen marans hatch this wk, maybe I will share them with her.

Loved the weather today. Sat out & watched DH build another coop. If he finishes it tomorrow I will post a few pics.
