I've been out in the garden with my cup of coffee this morning.

Several of my green beans are climbing the strings and their leaves are getting bigger with each day~ the tomatoes have tons of babies, the squash is green and growing and the jalapeno peppers have several blooms! It was so nice out there early... but I know today is going to be a hot day.

Trying to get ready to go to Blanchard this evening my truck had a worn out carrier bearing so I picked one up a few days ago and my neighbor is helping me we dropped the driveshaft and found I needed another set of U-joints so went to the zone and got them finally beat the old carrier bearing off of the shaft and they of course had sold me the wrong one so it's back to town again I owe my poor neighbor gas money now LOL He is good guy to offer to help me out we do help each other out a lot it's too bad more neighbors aren't like that the world is a lot better place when we help each other out,

I have Wellsummers hatching YAY!! I was afraid they weren't going to make it I have 5 so far and 22 of my own eggs have hatched so not bad at all, I have no idea why they waited till day 22 to start hatching but I'll take it LOL, I hope everyone is having a good day..

I feel for you Racefan I know it's hard to lose it all like that but keep your head up things will work out and probably for the better, our family lost a house to a fire completely lost it all so I know what you mean, Not sure what I might be able to do to help but if you need anything just yell I don't live that far away and can always lend a hand..

Edited for smelling,, I mean spelling LOL

Jaxon and I went by Mary's Swap meet in Midwest City this morning. Jaxon spent his money on two runner/pekin cross ducks. He was a happy camper and since he didn't pitch a fit for a bunnie, I was happy as well. We put the ducklings in with the mama runner who only has one ducklings. She took them right in. I wish that other poultry was as accepting of young ones they didn't hatch. There are two guineas keets that hatched in a nest that a turkey hen was setting. I tried to take them away from her and she got distressed and was looking for them, so I gave them back. I have had very little luck with turkeys raising guineas from hatch. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Put the runner duck eggs beneath the 3 turkey hens that are co-setting a nest. They don't want to stop setting, so they might as well be useful. I don't think there were any viable eggs beneath them, since some poults hatched from that nest 2 weeks ago. I just hope that the eggs that didn't hatch - don't explode

They do NOT want me near them so I haven't been able to remove any unhatched eggs. The one hen rolled those 10 duck eggs beneath her right away - before one of the other turkey hens setting the nest could claim them.

On yet another nest, a silkie has decided she will try and hatch a pile of guinea eggs in the stack of straw bales. I hope she is successful. My luck hatching guineas this year has been rather dismal.

Have had an adventure with parts for my truck I paid 20 bucks for hte wrong part and when I went back they wanted 85 bucks for the right one that wouldn't be in till late in the week so called around and found one much cheaper and got home with it and another part they had sold me was wrong so ended up making 3 trips to town at 13 miles each way before I got everything all sorted out and put back together, WHEW!! So I'm up and running and should be at the sale in a little while LOL

Tell me about Mary's sale. What time does it start? Variety & such? We will be staying the night @ the omniplex on the 24th. Figure when we get up on the 25th could be a good time to fit in some poultry!!

I just sat some guinea eggs in my incubator for a 4th of July hatch. I am not brave enough to let them stay in the nest way too many predators. DD left her coop open last night & her favorite girl is now missing & the remaining 3 chickens from that coop have spent the day in the doghouse & refuse to come out. Guess this evening I will take them out of the dog house & put them back into their coop with some treats.
