Well, my girl is still all poofy today.

If you can seperate her in a pet taxi overnight with no feed or water. Then check her first thing in the morning the crop should be down. If not there is either a blockage to the gizzard or it is early stages of crop impaction which can lead to sour crop.

You can also feel the crop to see if there is a mass in it, if there is massage it firmly, the crop is a muscle after all, to see if you can break it up. The bird will usually just sit there, if it tries to escape don't massage as hard. A little ACV in the water will help as will peeled Tomatos. To peel just place in hot water for about 15 seconds the pop them in a cold water bath, the skin wiil peel very easily then.

For those having trouble with chicks. Boil up and peel some eggs, chop them finely and mix with their starter once a day at about 50/50 works wonders.

Talk to me a out hens that share a nest. Taron moved 2 broody girls into a large coop with 2 boxes of eggs. Both hens are on the same nest. Eggs should hatch in 2 days. Wondering if they will share them or if the alpha hen will take all the babies for herself.
We took the other eggs & put in the hatcher & can always offer those babies to them.

Broody hens make great mommas, but man are they full of headache & dramma!!!!!!

Today I am going to try & knock out a small batch of goat milk soap before heading to town. Figure I will go to Lowes & Home Depot & stare at the lighting selections until it is all a blur. Outlets were easy for us we agreed to place outlets every 4-6ft depending on the wall. Just struggling to pick out the recessed light & placements. Also torn on how much function a ceiling fan provides. The air guy says he doenst have a single fan in his house, but don't they help move air? Going to visit a few lighting stores in Dallas in 2 wks, maybe they can lay out my lights if I show them the floor plan??? A girl can hope right?

We have ceiling fans in our bedroom and living room. Wish we'd installed them in the other two bedrooms. The air movement supplements/replaces air conditioning, and we have trouble sleeping if ours is not on. They're great in the winter too, to keep the warm air moving.

Of course! A sportsman can hold anything!!!! I have egg trays in 3 sizes, not sure how many sizes they make but I know there are many options.
