i am thinking starling, but either way, mix up some cat or dog food to a mushy consistancy and get a straw and scoop a little up and give it to him that way- this is a pic of my pet starling zippy- maybe mama was a starling?? in the spring they have yellow beaks
This is the little baby I rescued this morning. I was able to observe mama bringing insects to the nest so my kids are now out bug hunting. I'm giving one drop of sugar water every ten minuted or so since it went a few hours with nothing before I could get it home. I suspect internal injuries due to a fifteen foot fall onto concrete and I'm surprised I even got it home alive. Any advice? Mama was small and black with white speckles on wings and tail.

i had a vet tell me after losing quite a few rescues, sometimes we are meant to give them a peaceful passing- and i have thought that many times since then, tell your son he was meant to comfort the little one-Def, not a starling, but baby didn't make it. I really didn't expect it to but I had to try. My 9yo son is very upset about it :-(
