Christina, I don't know of any Lav Orps. That seems to be one of the colors than everyone wants yet no one wants to let go of.

I don't have a huge preference. My previous hens were americanas, rirs, Sussex, and a mix of red and black hybrids, and out of those I loved the Rhode Island reds the most. I'd be interested in trying some buff orpingtons too. I'd like to find some older pullets or hens already laying to start with, given that I travel enough to make having chicks inconvenient, but I'll definitely start with chicks if I need to
