***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Wow your quick!!

I am absolutely sure she is broody. We moved chicks out to the coop on Monday and I have two hens that have lost it. lol

They are gamebird and are pretty much broody all the time. She has been sitting on 3 golf balls for almost three weeks now.

I just didn't know if going from an incubator with stable humidity to the coop under a hen would mess up the hatch.

Nope they'll be fine. Good luck!

Yeah, when I got home last night she had passed. No predator, no symptoms prior. She was my special little Isbar girl, one of the first chicks I hatched. Thank you.

Morning guys! That weather was so wonderful yesterday! Sure got me itching to get stuff done outside and even consider a garden this year

a cute one for ya- this is Cole, serama roo Mitzi got for me- well, during the day he sits on top of a cage to lookout the window, has food and water and hangs there all day- so last nite i go to put him away for the nite and he goes crazy crowing and carrying on- so i put him back by the window, quiet- did it a couple time, same result- darn his little hide- so he is a happy uncaged boy by the window, he doesn't come off his sheet, need to rearrage a little for his 'gifts' from above the chair

Talk about spoiled. I thought about u yesterday when I was in Muskogee and then again last night looking for hatching cochin eggs for Sonny, but no luck. I keep looking for pullets. I just love these cochin/dotte mixes I got from NanaKat. They are spoiled. They can get out of their brooder now if I don't cover it, so every morning when I make breakfast they expect scrambled eggs as they are all gathered around me. Sometimes I just give them mealworms though, just because of the thought.
Hello to all the fellow Okies

Just wanted to introduce myself here in the OK section of BYC. My wife and I have decided to get some chickens again. We use to have chickens several years ago. So I got the incubator out the other night and got it all set up and ready to go. Now I am looking for some eggs to fill it up with. If any of you fellow Okies sell eggs, give me a shout, I would be interested in buying some to get us started.
What I am looking for is about 15-25 eggs. Wanting chickens that will be good egg layers and also have a good attitude.

Look forward to getting to know some of you fellow Okies.
Thanks in advance.
Troy
Welcome. I have great laying hens but they are a barnyard mix. My roos and hens are purebred. but not all the eggs are. I'd be willing to give you all you want, but i do live in the Henryetta area. I found some female geese in Enid, I just haven't decided if I need to go that far, If I do and you're interested let me know.

I wish I could think like you, because you always have so many wonderful things to say that make us feel better.

Quote: I spent the day making a pen and coop for Sonny, hopefully I can finsh it tomorrow, nothing fancy, but he'll be able to dig around. I decided to give him Leah and her girls, they are orp/wynadott mixes, so that should be fine for him. That way he won't be alone. I'm so ready to get everyone in their own pens and out of the house
