***OKIES in the BYC III ***

You made that much money from raising chickens?
You are a funny person! No, in 2013 I was financially separated from my final dependent. Sucks to longer be Head of Household. Seriously sucks! But, you want them to grow up and leave the nest, so there you have it. He has turned into a wonderful young man so I can't be that sad to lose my tax deduction!

loriemarler...did you get your coop finished during Spring break...just saw your thread.

Cathiesue...on the bright side, at least you are done for another year.

Tax time is always a killer for us....keeping two 13 column ledgers is a pain during the year, but pays off in January when I start the prep for our taxes. I keep one on the farm which includes the chickens, farm expenses and farm equipment. The other ledger is for the cattle operation expenses since Roger and his brother run cattle together. Then I add our half of the cattle operation to the farm ledger for our tax person. We got ours filed mid March. I'm already sorting receipts for the ledgers for next year. I'm behind...I like to do it twice a month.
I am good at collecting them, but not so good at sorting until the very end. I wonder if one of those scanning deals would help me any.

Rinda, So very very sorry to hear of the devastation.

for the survivors (and the puppy).

Kass, YIkes! so it is a GOOD incubator...I wonder if the towel idea (on top of the eggs) will work. Sad part is, with that, you wont be able to see the eggs. Might as well have no window. Is there room on the 'floor' for wet paper towels?

Guh, I'm on pins and needles here! When I left the house this morning I had five or six eggs in the bator with little pipmarks in them! And here I am, at work, dreaming of being at home with newly hatched fluffybutts!!!!!

I'm so worried they're all shrinkwrapped and by the time I get home it will be too late. :(

The thing is, how would you even know?

Don't you really have to wait the 12 or so hours anyway that they would need to get their lung exercised?

I'm sorry, are you asking me to be sensible when I'm sitting at work and my hatchlings are at home PIPPING?!?!?! I'm pretty sure those two concepts aren't compatible!
