do ya'll think I have enough broodies?
No...room in the top and between the two on the ground...that's two more...and a third could buddy up with one of the others.
Thanks Diana....necropsy was normal...nothing discolored, nothing abnormal in the organs or digestive system...no worms, no growths. BUT a kernel of corn was lodged sideways in her air way. Must have caused stress and a possible heart attack. How about Molly...the unsinkable Molly Brown from the Titanic survivors. Have you tried brewers yeast added to her food? It helps geese might help chickens. I would crush the pills and add a tsp to the goose food for the two goslings.
Found a hidden call duck nest....10 eggs. And I have another call duck trying to sit on 3 score eggs.
Roger said score eggs don't taste good....but to put them under your broody hens.
What do you think is this a light brahma
From the looks of all the pointed feathers in his saddle and collar...most likely a cockerel too. Hope everyone has battened down the hatches for tonight. The gust front hit about an hour ago and the pens with tarp covers looked like hot air balloons ready to lift off. The wind was blowing me sideways as I walked back from the barn.

Ha! I didn't catch that auto correct. Scovy eggs is what one call duck is trying to sit on.

The top 2 empty slots do not have the bottoms in so nobody can use them.

I found a local woman with lemon cuckoo orpington eggs, $25/dozen. She's sending me pics tomorrow, if anybody around Tulsa is interested.

Had an interesting day at volunteer, today! We were showing at a location where there weren't many food options nearby, which meant crossing three highways in order to get to the Quicktrip. I love walking the streets, it's fascinating, to me. (Don't mind my serious issues!

) Anyways, I pressed the button and waited for the "walk" signal. As soon as I stepped off the curb, someone ran a red light, came flying around the corner, cutting it real close, and nearly rammed me. Needless to say, I had quite the fright. The guy I was walking with actually grabbed my backpack and yanked me back. We both started laughing.

I was protected by The Lord. :D

So glad to hear you were in safe Hands. You must have an Angel on your shoulder!

Quote: Most definitely!

And today was a good day, despite everything my friend latest enemy has been saying about me, as well as a few other people who she wants kicked out of the volunteer group. Not happening, of course, but that sure doesn't stop her from badmouthing us. Oh well, I don't care. The three of us have each others' backs, and she has no power here. So there!

It's just sad for me to see my former close friend suddenly an angry little snot, jus because I'm pals with her ex, who broke up with her for being a snot.

I have my backdoor open and I'm out doing stuff and come back in the house to find a hen jumped into the gosling brooder box and layed an egg. Now I know who's been laying the round eggs.
Well something good came of it. If I leave my back door open, I don't know how many would be in here looking for treats. Way cool that it was the hen that layed the round eggs. I like it better when I know who lays what, but w/most of them I don't

I'm a happy chicken mama tonight!! The hoop coop is done (except decorations) and I moved 7 of the bigger chicks and the 3 adults into it. No scuffles Yay! I dusted everyone with seven dust before moving them and they were so mad at me the bonded over it. I think I heard them plotting against me too. Anyway the hen that has been laying for me stayed with the littles and was clucking at them from her roost. The littles haven't figured out roosting yet.

I had to put a vent in the back so I used paper plate holders from dollar general and zip ties
I've seen a lot of these around. I have been thinking of having one built. I always wonder, what type of tarps are used that don't wear and tear easily? Congratulations. Glad you're happy

Absolutely not.. Ha ha. Just kidding. I'd like that many then I wouldn't be a nervous wreck about the eggs in the incubator. I have two more hens go broody today so that makes four, but I only trust two of them. The other two are firsttimers. HOPE YOU HAVE GREAT HATCHES. My only two remaining muscovy hens have been sharing a nest and I have no idea how many eggs they have. I kept picking them up and they finally hid them from me. Humphrey seems bored. I'm excited to see his babies. I love his disposition. Thanks again for the swap.

Yes indeed , you were protected. I hope your laughing was from hysteria. I laugh sometimes when it's not exactly the time to do it.

It's been one of those days for me. I want to vent but am too tired now. I've been in a little over a half hour. Not all work. I love to lay down with the kids after I put fresh bedding in and they seem to tame down and enjoy it too. I feel like a bad chicken mama today. I'm missing one juvenile and don't know which one. I'll have to take the time and look at their bands tom. I thought I knew them all. One of the C?W's i got from NanaKat is the biggest pet. They all are, but he never leaves me when I'm out. I need to take pictures. His name is Micah and he's a birchen(did I say that right?) I hope he grows up to be a kind rooster.; Glad to see u on. I think we all missed u. I know I did.

@NanaKat That's a perfect name for her thanks. I just really couldn't think and I haven't had a Molly yet.
