***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I have 2 RIR that were supposed to be pullets but only one of them has a comb. They are approximately 11 weeks old. The one without a comb is smaller than the one with a comb but she always has been. Could I have gotten a roo by mistake?

Is the larger comb getting pink or red? Post a pic.

Where can you buy ACV w/mother. I tried my Wal-Mart and they did not have it, I know you can order it on line, but wanting to get some today. Also I picked up some Poly Vi Sol without/iron, can i put this in the chickens water for vitamins. Thanks
walmart has a heinz brand in the vinegar section, you should be able to get it at healthfood stores too

That's strange they didn't have it. My small town walmart carries the Heinz brand. Try a grocery store. I got the Braggs brand at a Reasors.

When I was in walmart I went to the vinegar section and seen apple cider vinegar all natural, but did not see anything that said w/mother.
I will try Reasor's Thanks

The only thing lovelier then a chicken w/ a hat is a hen w/ a hat, beard, and cleavage (nn)

Hi everyone. I'm down in the sw corner of our state...and have a question/need opinions. I never worried about feeding grit due to all the sand and gravel everywhere. My flock free ranges. I just bought 20 more chicks...and I want these to be hand tame for my 4 year old daughter. She is currently scared of our large chickens thanks to a rooster.. I was going to start feeding treats Soon to win their affection

. I know they need grit first. Would it be unwise to trade out pine shavings for coarse sand from outside? Thanks in advance for any input

I brood entirely on coarse sand and garden dirt straight from my back yard. I have absolutely no issues whatsoever. I feed "treats" early too. Never had pasty butt or cocci in my chicks.

If anyone is interested in a color assortment of Rosecomb chicks I have several that could use a home, I am only keeping a few of them.
