That's a long way to drive for one chicken, but I've seen people do stranger stuff for the love of chickens.
I've never driven so much in my life! I've learned more about oklahoma in the last 6 months than I ever knew in 20 years. All for chickens!

@ksane I hope you're feeling better. Arlo was super sick on his birthday which is just completely unfair. He's still not 100% over it. Total summer time birthday bummer.
@chicken110

So were finally making real progress with our coops. I'm so excited and I think we're going to let the SFHs free range over an area. I just feel bad about keeping them in a covered run with the bantams. So far I'm certain about 1 little being a rooster and it's a super lovely one. As far as raising roosters to be non aggressive is there anything I should or shouldn't do when they're young? I feel like most of what I'm reading says they're either gonna be good or they're not. Having young kids they better be good. I will probably not keep one in the covered run with the bantams, mainly because it will not free range and I'm worried that might cause aggressive behavior-but then I would love a little bantam
Cochin roo so I don't know. I'll have one free range with the SFHs, is that a bad idea with kids around? I don't want to sound crazy paranoid but I really love these kids of mine and I won't hesitate to cull a mean rooster. Even Arlo accepts that! So if anyone has any rooster wisdom to share I have lots of learning to do!
