Commercial sand should do just fine for an outdoor run. Under a barn or shed roofing, 3-4" of fresh pine shavings.I am building new coops and runs, I am going to try puttng sand down in the runs. My question is what type/kind of sand should I use. I know there is playground sand and commercial builders sand, so which one would I use for chicken runs? Thanks

Commercial sand should do just fine for an outdoor run. Under a barn or shed roofing, 3-4" of fresh pine shavings.
