***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Do you think the older hens could stand up to him without getting hurt? I have a couple of likely candidates, but if he killed one of them I'd probably change my anti-culling stance on the spot. I'm so torn when it comes to him, though, because when I go outside he comes up and walks next to me. And when I stop, he stops and just looks up at me like he's asking what my thoughts are on the world. But if I find one more dead pullet, his new name will be Soup.

Maybe I should take yours and Kass' s suggestions and cage him solo for a bit before rehoming him with the older girls.

Rinda, what kind of chicks do you have baking?

Right now mainly Cream Legbars, Swedish Flowers, Sapphire mixes, and Isbars. A few Langshans. The Jubilees stopped laying this week, not a single egg from them, haven't had any eggs from the spitzhaubens in probably 3-4 weeks. I was going to swap boys around to see if my BCM cockerels are old enough to get the job done but with the weather moving in tonight I think I'll wait.

The puppies changed a lot of my plans- had to stop everything and get something set up for them. Hinged a basic door on the 8x8 goat house we finished a few weeks ago and cut a hole just big enough in it for the momma. Daddy and the goats don't fit through the hole. So I dropped my Primier1 heat lamp holder in through a gap in the roofline, ran an extension cord over to the grower's outlet, and they will be snug and warm this week. Daddy and the goats can shelter in the dog houses for now. It's funny just how many goats can pack themselves into a single doghouse!

I believe it was both the finale and the set up for this years Christmas special. I do not know when the new season starts

This new Doctor has been so different from the "new Doctors" a real throw back to some of the original Doctors.
he really has incorporated all the drs, and still getting used to him- but very much a good blend

hope everyone is set for this cold, i am worried most about the cross beaks, don't want to bring them in, but i may have to at nite

Will you have baby Isbars, Croads or Jubilees any time soon?

Robin, I tried to do some reading and I didn't find anything about the tongue. I did, however, find a mention regarding the amount of food they take in. Since caloric expenditure is so high in the winter in order to keep warm, if the crossbeak is food-challenged they may not be able to eat enough to stave off hypothermia. If you have any worries about that, take her inside.

It has taken me all day and many trial fittings and alterations and he doesn't like it, but maybe it will keep him warm

Wow...that looks like a great jumpsuit! You have definitely created a garment that covers the bare skin almost entirely!. It looks soft.
Do you think he will settle down as he wears it and gets used to it? Since he is kicking his legs so much, maybe the material rubs his knees..

Thanks, no rubbing, I checked, but it is fluffy, and he is used to very aerodynamic! lol
