***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Betsy, I just adore the Showgirl pullet, Francesca, that I got from you at POOPS. In fact my two Showgirl girls are among my most favorite birds. They are like Chuahuas - don't know they are small. My Showgirl rooster has an attitude, not mean to me, but a Turken attitude. He got into the neighboring pen and fought with my Mille Fleur Cochin roo and the Mille ended up never really recovering.

Today I also lost my 1/2 Mille, 1/2 Mottled roo :) so all I have in Mille Fleur males in a one eyed Mille Cochin boy that I bought in Coweta in November. This roo has really great type for a Mille Fleur cochin and good color but he was born without an eye so I am not sure I want to breed him. I would hate to loose that project. I once had allot of great Mille birds. My Lavender Cochin project is doing well though - I have 8 great Black split to lavender birds to breed begining in March. I can't wait to fire up the incubator. May have to start in February!

Wow! MJ you have some great plans for those Lavendar Cochins. Sorry about your Mille Fleur rooster.
Sorry to hear about Jack...but glad to hear he will be back home soon.
Have you asked for a air quality check up for your room? If the mold count is higher than normal, the school system must provide an air purification system for the room...besides steps to eradicate the mold.

Betsy...I'm with you! Too many pollutants affect so many. And GMO plants and grains have adversely affected our diets and digestive systems. It's not a matter of medicine being better at diagnosing; it is that so many cases are cropping up.

Hey! I've missed you!! That's odd so many are getting sick. I got pneumonia last summer and it seriously wiped me out for months. Still didn't feel like I was quite over it and got a really bad sinus infection. I'd never had either in my entire life before and got one after another.

I've got......probably 75 roosters total in all the different bachelor yards. Out of aaaalllll those roosters there's only one that's mean. He was hand raised and coddled by my daughter and it's me he's mean to, no one else (he lives here now and she doesn't). I've "hand raised and coddled" lots and lots of them myself but they're fine. I have 1 Bantam Faverolles who used to jump on my foot but once I took his girls away and put him with boys he was fine. I love rooster dynamics. I wish they held classes on things like that. Probably wouldn't be worth their time because I'd be the only one who showed up.

I'm sick, too.  I've been toughing out a cold since Friday but last night it moved into my chest.  Also had an earache yesterday that is moving into a painful ear infection.  Trying home remedies for today if it isn't better in the next day or two I guess it's off to the doctor for me!

Sick here too. Headache, body aches, fever, no energy, and to top it off repeat performances of anything I try to eat. I've been staying at my parents house driving my daughter to Tulsa every day. Guess my hubby will have to do that tomorrow. And just to make things even more outstanding for the month, my dad fell in the driveway trying to pick up a newspaper and smashed his face and hands up.

MJ, sounds like you have enough projects to keep you busy all year! Glad you're enjoying the showgirls; they're really nice birds.

Sorry to hear of Jack's problems, but glad he's better and coming home in the foreseeable future. He's lucky to have friends like you and Ellie Mae to take such good care of his birds!

Nana, my brother is back in China, walking better and better after his horrible fall and injuries. However, MRI has shown the bone in his shoulder hasn't healed and he has a badly torn tendon that's also part of the rotator cuff, so he'll likely have surgery. He'll find out Thursday. I've told him how well you've done with your rotator cuff surgery. It's kinda funny; his orthopedic surgeon in China is an American.
