***OKIES in the BYC III ***

How are you feeling now? Any relief?
Nope. Zero. Still moaning and crying all day and night. Everyday seems a bit more painful than the day before cause it's growing. At least my husband's grandma agreed to come live with me while he is gone at work. Poor lady, the chickens were giving her such a hard time last night when she was tying to put them to bed.
But one of the two incubators just went on lock down and there are already two peeps :) sucks that I don't get to watch and just get the news delivered to my bedroom. :(

I can't stand that everybody is feeling so bad! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and I hope the next few days bring relief and peace for you all.

BetsyOK and NanaKat, I'm right on board with both of you! The pollutants in the air are driving the record amounts of asthma, airborne allergies and all kinds of illnesses, and the GMO foods we're eating have to be one of the factors driving the record number of gluten allergies, IBS and other intestinal disorders. People complain about regulations and the EPA, but I don't want to live in an atmosphere like what they have to deal with in China. It's already bad enough that when I'm coming into town I can see the brown haze over Tulsa, but at least I can still *see* Tulsa.

Does anybody know of any turkey eggs for sale in the northeast OK area? I'm looking for a pet turkey for my mom.

in 2012 I graduated with two bachelor degrees one of with is in environmental studies. And based on my 4 years of studying this issue I can tell u that u are absolutely right about everything. And more you look into every aspect of our every day lives more you realize how troubling things are. It's all very doom gloom and hell in a hand basket like. But we cant quit and have to work hard to get educated on what we consume and the outcomes of out actions and try to make the best informed decisions. It is also very important to be a part of your community, to share that knowledge and resources. I truly believe that while more and more of us learn about the devastation that we are facing we can turn things around to being more self reliant, local based, sufficient and sustainable :) raising your own happy healthy chickens and being a part of the community while doing that is already a huge step in the right direction.

Anyone want a rooster? He showed up at a friends house. I don't do roosters. this is
400
what they said about him.
I prefer someone put him to work. I have 12 hens and would love to keep him but my girl hates roosters. That being said he will share the same crock pot fate, as my previous r oosters, if we dont find him a home. He's a Rhode island red over silver laced wyandette. Prob 8-12 months old.

My turkeys just started laying for the year. I'm in Kay county. I'm planning on setting a batch just after Christmas for hatch the end of January or so. They are white hollands.
