LOL Coop!!!! Yeah six drops would be more like it! I can't complain although it is hot & I really want some rain, I will still take this over the cold ice & snow for months on end.

Here you go Okla, the cows aren't mine they were in a pasture near Eufaula last fall. Other people have bumper stickers that say "Caution this vehicle stops at garage sales" I need one that says "Caution this vehicle stops randomly to take pics"

Longhorn Bulls herd their herd going round and round them keeping them together trying to move them away from who ever maybe trying to move them. They are very intimidating never was attacked just never wanted to be very far from the truck when fixing fence or what ever chores I had to do a foot. One of the things I'd like to do is keep a Long Horn steer to see how big he would get and what his horns would look like. Neat Pictures by the way.

Yes, I'm surviving, I do think the heat is beyond ridiculous, but still would rather deal w/ this then winter! Yes there have been lots of heat related calls, but mostly people being STUPID in the heat, not drinking water, or worse lots of ETOH and heat, and for the record YES BEER IS ETOH!!!!!!! I mostly hate what it's doing to my garden, still not tomatoes, don't know if my plants will make it until fall when maybe I'll get some if the heat breaks. I am wanting to start planting for a fall cool crop, but that is pointless right now, maybe in a few weeks, still should have enough time before a hard killing freeze. I have started another insect colony, this time meal worms, just started it yesterday so it will be several months before I can start harvesting them.

How have you been?

I don't know how to make it but I used to buy it alot in California. It is delicious!

I have never tried it but i have been seaching it and found a lady in Ohio that sells the kefir grain to make it and keep a starter . says it will last forever if done right.. says yogart has two probiotics and that kefir has forty two.. this lady will sell you the grain with detailed information on how to do it right .. im thinking about giving it a shot.. its suppose to be really good for the digestive system of humans and animals alike,,

They have kefir starters on craigslist sometime. I personally would try to find someone locally with a starter. You can buy dehydrated starters, but you always have to use them. Don't think it gives you the same result as local. There is also a kefir yahoo group for trading grains.

Never tried it, another thing on my list to do. I did try to get kumbocha tea started & that was a flop. Guess I got discouraged after that!

Love the long horn pics. We will prob get a few after DH retires. I personally just don't want to be here alone with them while he is gone various places the next 5 years! I think ground beef is best from long horns or bison. I don't like the other cuts from them I need some fat in my rib-eye to make it nice & juicy! The steaks from longhorns are only good for stir-fry & such.
