***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I sure hope it's a pullet. I have 3 similar suspicious red faced BO chicks in my flock of 10 that I bought all at once, and one unmistakeable SLW cockerel. I hope I'm not unlucky enough to get 4 roos when all I wanted was egg layers. Well, I did partially get them as therapy animals for my special needs kids, and they are great for that purpose so far. The buffs are like puppies with feathers. Ha!

I always have guineas. Kept at least a half dozen around at my old house. Moved in Feb now down to 3 know going to get more. 3 of my neighbors have guineas now. I still have ticks.
A friend of mine told me she read a study that said chickens and guineas were pretty much equal when it comes to tick control. Not sure what the source was.

What about fleas? I have chickens and guineas free ranging. But I have to keep spraying the yard and the puppy pen. I let them out to run around a lot.

No limbs down, but everything is a muddy mess. I heard that large hail and high winds were expected last night, but they didn't hit here. Wherever they did wreak havoc, I hope people and animals are safe, warm, and dry.
