***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Of course!

We've got Brookie (can hardly see her in the very back, Splash Cochin), Tori (buff Cochin), Elsa (blue Cochin), Minion (buff Cochin), Dickie (Cornish rock), Stampy (wheaten OEGB), Mohawk (Nankin). We ended up with too many boys, so we're in the process of building a second coop to separate out the boys. My son is in 4H and will be showing Mohawk and possibly another boy, so we don't want to get rid of them.

Here's Lucy, our Silkie that was given to us.

And our newbies, two Polish and an EE. Our EE is standard where all the rest (besides Lucy) are bantams, so he's huge compared to the rest, lol. Since he has turned out to be a boy, we will be giving him away.

Just a few photos...
Just hatched these two little Turkens and a few other breeds from eggs purchased from a young 4Her. He also had Pekin duck eggs that should hatch next Sunday.

Ansel and his daughter in with the big hens. The d"Anver rooster has been courting her the past two weeks.

My generous neighbor brought me 4 gallons of cherry tomatoes that I turned into some lovely tomato juice The half gallon and the almost full jar are both Plum juice.

And part of the apples from our Gala Apple tree...made 20 pints of applesauce from the 5 gallon bucket full.

And a view from the hill...

I wish I could sit and pick your brain. All of your chickens, produce and canned/jarred foodstuffs are absolutely beautiful!

I ask her abut canning and some cooking. I've been known to cook but still not a canner. Thanks Nanakat your like a Nana that I call with questions about things I'm not to experienced with.
That's a good thing about this BYC. I don't face book and besides this I don't do internet but everyone not just Nanakat is very helpful here.

o
Some of my random chicks. I took a lot of pics the other day (over the last month) mostly after Nanakat asked for some new ones. I just got them on the computer.

One of my (the only 1 that would always follow me or jump on my arm and run to my shoulder when checking the feed or water in the brooder box ever) lovely little chicks from spring that I didn't sell. Like some of my new 1's Dark Cornish with a Dark Cornish or RIR roo.

Zebu's. What I'm trying to get into. I want a pair to pull a cart. These are not mine. I finally got a heifer and my eye on a young bull.

What me and her (Pretty Little Adrianna) won at the chuckwagon races

Just thought it was funny. That was me 30 something yrs ago.

this was worth a pic. 44 lbs after I cut off enough for dessert and filled a 1 gal Ziploc for later.
I'll get to the chicken pics tomorrow.

Everyone that I've talked to here on BYC is super friendly, I agree! I'm really glad I found this place. It's been great with information, and people know a lot without being snooty ya know?
