Hello Okie friends. Bea couple years since I have been on here. Just wanted to say hey nd at we are praying for all of you and the terrible weather woes lately. You have really caught hell lately. and our news said tonight more is expected.
I am still in Tn. Still wanting to be back there! lol My daughter and rest of family are there. I am raiseing Tradtional Seramas now. Although I do have a few other breed pullet chicks on hand. Who can turn down spring chicks! A recent addition has been two indian runners(both turned out to be males!) and four buff orpington ducks. They are to young to sex yet.
Special shout to NanaKat! So glad to see you still on here. Hope you are doing well and dry soon.

was thinking about you just the other day as I was enjoying some flowers in the garden.
Fellow OKIEs...hope your wet areas are drying out and Please report in to let us know how you are doing!
We got 14 inches of rain in Meeker in May and several more inches since. While the house and barns are on upland on the farm, the pastures are lower...all creeks have run out of their banks and we lost two water gaps. Repairs were easy, but the chain saw was necessary to cut out big limbs.
The tornado in our area took a tree by the house and several in the pasture, but a neighbor lost a barn and another the front porch.
Hubby and his brother are putting in a tinhorn on the property in Prague because the low water crossing we had is ruined. We have cow/calf pairs to bring home and can't get to the loading pen until this repair is made.
The plants in the raised beds in the garden have been struggling with all the rain and the huge weed crop. Mowing has been sporadic to say the least. Finally got my okra to come up!
Chicks are still hatching from the breed pens. Stopped collecting the Barred Wyandotte pen...great fertility and hatch rate. The CW pens are doing better since I retired Grandpa in Pen 3 due to low fertility....which was expected. What did hatch are lovely chicks.
Baby pictures...the last hatch had Barred, Blue and Columbian Wyandotte and a few Delaware.

And the big tub brooder has a mixture of ages. The bigs go to the barn today. I've been slow moving them out because the transition pens have been too wet to receive chicks... the rain backs up the process.

What ever the cause for the change in our seasonal rains...be it global warming or simply a weird jet stream...this is the new life in Oklahoma.
Sure hope everyone is doing okay!
